Safe setlist, excellent performance
Bought myself this new DVD. It's not better or worse than TA, a little different.
The sound on my new Onkyo dolby digital receiver is great, but its sound is
rougher than on TA.
The perfomance is very good, Ian Gillan is in great shape (listen to Fools).
I believe Roger got some new stage equipment; his sound is different. Jon and
Ian Paice are real craftsmen. Steve is brilliant, but a little boring after
four DVD's (OK, I admit I'm a Blackmore fan).
The setlist
They need this setlist or this DVD wouldn't sell in America and it's business,
but please boys - come on! After seven years with Steve, only three songs left
on this show. I know it's wishful thinking of me, but why not make a DVD for
the die hard fans with a completely different setlist?
The extras
It's something, but not much. And stop talking about how glad you are about
Ritchie's departure. We know he is a pain in the ass and if he hadn't left the
band in 1993 (not 1984 Roger!) there wouldn't be a Purple anyway - but there
wouldn't have been a Deep Purple without him in the first place.
