Buy this! I've watched the DVD twice - it is the best I've seen so far, (and I have quite a lot of them including Come Hell Or High Water, Video Singles, Heavy Metal Pioneers, A Band Downunder, Concerto For Group And Orchestra, Total Abandon and New Live and Rare, as well as Ian Gillan Live). I'm not sure what Gillan has been doing, but his voice sounds so good here, better than it has in years. I was happy to see the inclusion of Mary Long, one of my favorite tracks from WDWTWA. The playing is top notch, although the solo section is a bit long. Little things surprise me, like seeing the band shake hands with the audience at the end of the program, the effortless ease in which these guys play together, and the tightness of the band within the tons of improvisation they do. I also love how these guys just play!. In the interviews section of the DVD they talk about how it is great musicianship, not hair or clothes or other such trappings, that draw people to this band. I would have to agree. I have always loved just watching them play, and they do just that. The DVD is also visually good and the sound is great. It also should be noted for being Jon Lord's last USA tour with the band. I have not heard Don Airey, but seeing Jon and his mastery of the Hammond means these are huge shoes to fill. This one is better than the Australian 1999 video, and is probably my favorite right up with the latest Concerto one. Buy this.
