Nothing sums up Ian Gillan better than Gillan's Inn, a career retrospective DualDisc
like none other! Having decided to re-visit the classic songs made famous by Deep Purple and
his own solo career, Ian invited several of his friends to guest on the album including
Joe Elliot (Def Leppard), Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath),
Joe Satriani, Janick Gers (Iron Maiden),
Uli Jon Roth (Scorpions), Johnny Rzeznik (Goo Goo
Dolls), Ronnie James Dio (Dio), Jeff Healey
(Jeff Healey Band), and of course Ian Gillan's Deep Purple
bandmates participated as well.
Lending his ears & talent, veteran producer Nick Blagona (The Police, Bee
Gees, Chicago, Rainbow and Deep Purple) put it all together.
An expanded version (recently released in the UK last April, now seeing a North American
release) is available with audio and video tracks from the recent tour Ian did over the summer
of 2006, as well as an additional studio track (Demon's Eye) with Jeff Healey and Jon
Lord. The live songs are Wasted Sunsets and Have Love, Will Travel in audio
format, and videos of No Laughing In Heaven, Hang Me Out To Dry, Into The
Fire, Moonshine, Men Of War, and Sugar Plum. There is also
behind-the-scenes and backstage footage, plus a photo gallery of pictures taken during the
tour.
