On May 29, 2001, Deep Purple played at a charity show at Parco Novi Sad in Modena, Italy on the invitation of Luciano Pavarotti. Ian Gillan sang "Nessun Dorma" in a duet with Pavarotti, and Purple finished off the show with "Smoke On The Water," before Ian Gillan joined the all-star bill for a rendition of The Beatles' "With A Little Help From My Friends."
