Good Lord If that was the last time that I shall see Jon Lord on stage with Deep Purple then it was a very good performance to go out on. The atmosphere inside the Odeon (forget the Apollo!) was electric as soon as the lights went down at 8:30pm. The set list was punchy and if anything lacked a couple of the more subtle tracks from the recent Purple catalogue. If not Child In Time, then Sometimes I Feel Like Screaming. Fools or Watching The Sky and drop the Well Dressed Guitar for Up The Wall. This would have made the night perfect as opposed to brilliant. • Fireball Encores: * Featured Jon Lord ** Featured "some friends we met down the pub" - Janick Gers, Bruce Dickinson and Nicko Mcbrain from Iron Maiden. The 100 minutes just flew by and then they were gone. I hope that the management allow for a third soundboard series covering some early dates from February and some of these dates to made available. Good luck in the studio guys - here's to the next time and thanks Jon for all the fish!
