Touring in 2025

The band takes some time for a well deserved break from the touring. We hope some of that downtime is being used to make some new music. Meanwhile, various members of the family continue touring on their own and with different projects, albeit mostly in Europe.

Ian Paice kicks off the year in late January touring with Purpendicular, continuing throughout February. Caveat: these dates change frequently, so double check before making any plans. He will also play a one-off gig on May 30 in Austria with another tribute band, Voodoo Strat.

Glenn Hughes appears to be the busiest of the lot, touring-wise. He starts with a one-off gig in Sofia, Bulgaria, on February 18, performing with an orchestra. Throughout April he will tour Germany with the Rock Meets Classic project / package tour. A so far unconfirmed solo gig is pencilled in for May 2 in Brazil, followed by a string of European dates in June with the Black Country Communion. In September Glenn switches to full solo mode, performing throughout the month and into early October. The majority of the tour is billed under The Chosen Years moniker, with the last shows in Nordic countries billed as the Deep Purple set.

Simon McBride will play a handful of solo dates in late March and early April, both in the UK and on the continent.

Nick Simper is scheduled for a one-off date playing with Nasty Habits in Vienna on March 29.

Joe Lynn Turner is billed for another package tour of Germany and Austria in October. This one is called The Rock Legends Tour.

Have a very Purple New Year!

Is Glenn Touring New Jersey ?

    Daniel says:

Glenn’s Chosen Years tour sounds like something to look forward to. While it’s good that Paicey has a platform to stay active, hopefully he will be able to team up with a stronger band than Purpendicular soon.

Will Glenn be touring in New Jersey ?

    Dave says:

Good for Glenn to be touring so much. Maybe he’ll be too busy to mention the R&RHoF anymore. Let it go, man!

    Fla76 says:

if Little Ian will play concerts until June it means that the possible Purple tour will not start before July with the big festivals, or directly from September onwards

I’m already fantasizing about seeing Robin Beck as special guest! Joe Lynn Turner with or without wig is all fine and well, but Robin is my absolute AOR crush!

@5 I sincerely doubt there will be any major live work by Deep Purple this year. Perhaps in 2026, to follow the new album.

    Uwe Hornung says:

I in turn doubt that at this stage of their career and biology they would dare take a year-long break from touring, Stathis!

Besides, aren’t writing sessions for a new album already scheduled for early next year (2025)? I remember an interview snippet along those lines by was it Little Ian?

Reception of =1 was such that Purple have tasted blood again re recording, don’t think there will be a lengthy hiatus from it. And where there is a record, there is a tour, pandemics allowing.

GH will also be playing in Sao Paulo, Brazil, with the Chosen Years tour, in November 16th.

    George Martin says:

At the risk of everyone getting mad at me, this is what Deep Purple should be doing this year.
January 15th – In the studio recording a new album.
April 1st – The new album gets released.
    April 15th – November 15th – Tour the world.
Obviously there would be a few weeks off here and there in between as they tour through the different continents, I don’t expect them to play every night. Paicey can play with Perpendicular after Purple is done and Simon can do his solo shows then as well. They have to realize both Gillan and Glover are turning 80 this year so there is not a lot of time left. Don’t get me wrong, I hope they continue forever but that’s not going to happen. Time is the one thing you can never get back. Plus I admit it, I’m greedy. I want to see them a couple more times, I’m not getting any younger either.
