Paul Gilbert can’t shred
Steve Morse and Paul Gilbert were special guests of Ernie Ball stand at the NAMM earlier this year. We had previously posted a couple of tracks from their performance, but there was another one. And it is a spectacular jam over a tune that was written and recorded in the bad old days, but only became a live improvisation vehicle during Steve’s tenure with the band — Pictures of Home.
It’s just too bad that you can barely hear Steve in there…
Thanks to Guitar.com for the video.
Some say all roads leads to Rome, I would say all guitar players will be led to the Blackmore empire.
July 9th, 2020 at 07:24I hear Steve just fine – once again showing how exquisite his rhythm work is.
Gilbert doing the Lord solo note for note is heart-warming.
The two had fun, that is nice to see.

July 10th, 2020 at 13:25Wow. First time I see Paul Gilbert. Will check about this guy. Enormous talented guitarist. Don’t know if he can create music like Ritchie did. But I just have to say …. we ( my generation) had Ritchie Blackmore, the new generation have Paul Gilbert. Amazing. I suppose it must give you wings also when u are playing with a guy like OUR Stevie. Such a nice a smiley man must be so much joy doing gig with him. Thank you. And yeah Uwe Hornung # 2 was like Jon lord was there. Superbe.
