Excellent version. This song is without doubt one of the top five Purple tunes of all time in my opinion, if not top three. If only Gillan had the balls to even try and sing it live, let alone stop being a mardy bum on I didnt write it so I am not singing it. How about Hush then ? 🙂

Saw this lot at the Ramblin’ Man fair a couple of years back. Great musicians, great live entertainment. Did their takes on Maiden, Metallica, AC/DC among many others. The guy on the accordion was a scream.

What has always drawn me to Deep Purple is the sound and the quality of musicianship. So when I hear covers of DP songs by musicians with a very different sound and it comes off as good, what it points to the quality of song writing.

Did Mr Glenn Hughes or Mr David Coverdale have the balls to sing ‘Child in Time’ live on stage.
IG don’t needs to have balls to sing, he sang Nessun Dorma with Our beloved Pavarotti. Now you need more than balls to sing this on stage with Pavarotti.
Peace and Respect and Love to u all.
    Cheers
