Razzle Dazzle
Razzle Dazzle, from Ian Gillan’s Contractual Obligation #1. Not my favourite track off Bananas, but good to see it being pulled out of a dusty closet for a live appearance.
Thanks to BraveWords for the info.

Always liked this one😎👍
August 30th, 2019 at 20:36This is Gillan-esque that has no place for a Deep Purple album.Absolutely crap song. One of the worst Deep Purple songs.Embarrassing.
August 30th, 2019 at 21:14yawn.
August 30th, 2019 at 21:14I believe it’s one of Ian’s favorites
August 30th, 2019 at 21:15Brilliant stuff. Don Airey‘s band is amazing, säe them live for several times, they know their stuff. And IG remembering all the lyrics, nice one. Between an orgy of destruction and a wonderful time :-). Lovely!
August 30th, 2019 at 21:46Respect for Ian for pulling out something different but Razzle Dazzle has to be one of the worst DP tracks ever… ploddy, cheesy and just… awful.
August 30th, 2019 at 23:09I’e always enjoyed “Razzle Dazzle.”

Pull out Bananas again and listen!
August 31st, 2019 at 03:17Don’s solo on Razzle Dazzle is wonderful!
It’s a good song, you morose old geezers!
Anything from “Bananas” and “Rapture…” is worth being brought back on stage, those 2 Bradford-produced albums are fantastic. “Razzle Dazzle” may be a bit of a filler, but a good one. It makes me think of 80’s Uriah Heep, the Goalby-era, mixed with older rock’n’roll. Well done Ian.
August 31st, 2019 at 10:57Odd song for DP for sure, but one that I’ve always liked. Nice to hear some of the stuff that doesn’t make a usual live set.
August 31st, 2019 at 11:19Never liked this song. But it was fun to see this footage. Great to see Mr Gillan doing what he pleases to do. After seeing this I don’t hate song anymore.
August 31st, 2019 at 13:05One of my 3 least favorite tunes of the Morse era ( Girls Like That and On Top Of The World are the others ) It doesn’t differ much from the studio version here. The back-up singers work nicely
I always thought that Fools would be a great choice for an orchestral outing.
Lest we forget, the 2019 touring season starts in the US this week. First shows since Mexico, last Fall.
August 31st, 2019 at 14:31I hope to see lots of reviews here.
I recommend this BluRay. absoluteley fantastic. Great Don-Airey Band.
August 31st, 2019 at 18:54I think people and fans should look more beyond the album cover and the title of bananas album. Bananas has a great depth and width of broad spectrum of materials. The only problem that the album lacked an identity as it was the end for Jon Lord and tge beginning of Don Airey contrition. Also the production was rushed I think. I hope one day Roger Glover will spend some time remixing the tracks and give the songs some justice. Now please go and play the song second track from the album called ‘the sun goes down’ and admire Don Airey musical statement as if he is screaming on the organ saying l am here now for the long haul. God bless you all. DP songs will never stop growing and reaching bigger audience.
September 3rd, 2019 at 10:51According to Darker than Blue blog, Simon McBride (the guitarist for this release and the Don Airey band), is rumored to take Steve Morse’s place – at least for live concerts, in case he is unable to perform.
Is there any truth to this?
September 4th, 2019 at 13:52@16: According to DTB blog is streching it a bit… A reader of the blog submitted a review where he writes “Possible-rumoured-Steve-Morse-live-understudy- (if needed)”. That doesn’t say much to me at least.
September 4th, 2019 at 18:47I think the titletrack is best
September 5th, 2019 at 06:58I think they have done the best album. They are not the same band without ritchie

Exactly!
And let him extend some of the songs.
SUN GOES DOWN(Hi Tracy)is one of my favs of the Morse era yet they dont play it live end edited/faded it when it got interesting…
I regularly think that of older songs as well : WTF HAPPENED IN THE TIME THEY FADED AWAY?!
