Los Gauchos De Acero
Speaking of Argentina… Ladies and gentlemen, we present you (pre)teen sensation — Los Gauchos De Acero (The Steel Gauchos). The Gauchos are brothers Jorge: Victor Emilio (age 15) on guitar and vocals, Martín Gustavo (age 12) on bass, and Agustin (age 11) on drums. Here’s their take on Child In Time, no less:
The brothers got into the spotlight back in 2006, when they recorded a video of several classic rock and heavy metal covers for audition at a local TV talent show. When it was rejected, their dad put the clips on Youtube and the boys turned into an overnight Internet sensation. Personally, I simply couldn’t wipe a stupid grin off my face while watching their clips. The sheer enthusiasm, ferocity, and, even without discounting for their age, skill of these kids are second to none.
The term boy band definitely takes a whole new meaning in the pampas…
Cool… very good… anyone interested in one of the select DP tribute bands actually endorsed by the band, check out ‘Cry Free’ at youtube, there is even a message clip to them from DP.
November 21st, 2008 at 01:03The singer comes off very average at phrasing the lyrics so it threw me off until I investigated further and heard him belt out such piercing scream parts that I couldn’t help but appreciate them.
Fantastic,awesome…..Certainly restores my hope for the youth of today!Great to see the kids actually play real instruments and ROCK,instead of the usual rap crap kids of today normally goes ape about!Keep it up kids & ROCK ON!
November 21st, 2008 at 01:41This is wonderful. It’s nice to see young kids play rock music like this, as bubblegum pop, hip-hop, and R’nB rule TV and radio station these days. I hope they will form a band in the future, could be great! Rock is back.
November 21st, 2008 at 08:07Hey someone have payed to you for this publicity????

November 21st, 2008 at 09:56AGUANTEN LOS GAUCHOS DE ACERO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
November 21st, 2008 at 11:40I’d heard JLT has organised this talent show…… he was looking for the next tribute band he could front………. seems reasonable…….
The band going to be called ‘Beyond Deep Purple’..
The band will try to include songs from all DP’s albums, the exception being S&M…………not much point covering songs nobodys heard of.
Its gonna be in the same vain as JLT has being doing for the past decade……….you know…….singing songs he didnt write……..
November 21st, 2008 at 15:08I’ve seen this bands a few times already on youtube, they’re pretty good.

Rascal, it s pretty clear in which camp you are by now
There are several KILLERTRACKS on S and M
I dont have statistics but to suggest noone ver heard of them.
BS!
Well, these guys are very young,
At least we have YOUNG BLOOD to inject in the forthcoming Roundabout adventure we all like so much
And after about 15 years of wanking it s about time too!
November 21st, 2008 at 21:15Good boys :). And Cry Free is tribute band from Hungary. They will play with Jon Lord (Concerto for group and orchestra)in Košice in Slovakia in 2009. And I´m very happy 🙂
November 22nd, 2008 at 06:46My comment is being screened, but I posted some clips.
November 22nd, 2008 at 08:41Cry Free should do the Concerto quite well, but I can’t say I understand why this is being ventured. Talk about strange ideas, I guess he can’t get Purple for this?
Another great tribute band is Demon’s Eye from Germany:

Saw DEMONS EYE in early 2007 with Ian Paice in The Netherlands, very good.
Interesting setlist as well, incl Emmaretta, April, Mistreated, Child In Time, etc
Wish I could visit them this time in Verviers but I think I decided against it to see Lucette van den Berg in Antwerpen, the day after
Maybe I ll change my mind?
Cant they come to NL again?
Thomas, you are a member of this band, I recall?
November 22nd, 2008 at 20:05No, I am not a bandmember. I am just a fan . Ok, a big fan:-)
