Sometimes they just feel like it…
…And sometimes they don’t.
While the setlist is one of the more favourite topics of lament on pretty much any Purple website and forum, sometimes they do feel like doing something a little bit different. SIFLS got two airings on the recent Ukranian/Russian tour. Here’s the second outing, which happened in Moscow on October 27:

The next day, in St.Petersburg, the band didn’t do SIFLS, but threw in about a minute long istrumental jam of Back In USSR to open the encores.
Thanks to deep-purple.ru for the info.
A little wrong.. They did SLFLS in Petersburg too.

November 4th, 2008 at 09:24They also did SIFLS on secret gig in Engels
November 4th, 2008 at 23:17SIFLS is a classic. Stands above Fireball(album), In Rock (album, etc BN,SK,CIT), Pic of HOme, MI Leo, WDWTWA (exc. WOman Tokyo), Hush, HOBL (album), TBRO(album) and other Morse songs, in my humble opinion.
What makes it not an instant classic is the song made in 1996 when many people do not aware and listen to rock radio stations again. If the song was born in 1972.
November 5th, 2008 at 06:06I know SIFLS is a classic and imo one of the greatest songs ever made bij Deep Purple.
It’s my second favorite of them, first place is CIT.
And you’re right if it was born in 1972 it would’ve been a classic song nowadays.
Just listen to the riff only, imo better than the overrated SOTW riff.
And the solo of Morse in that song brings so much emotion.
Its just top class art 🙂 .
November 5th, 2008 at 09:36When was the secret gig in Engels?
November 6th, 2008 at 05:33Hey Andresi
What do you smoke?
BTW, a drumpodium is a little stage on which the drummers eauipment is placed
November 7th, 2008 at 00:00Were you serious?
Hope not…..
Good point, as 1972 is still considered the summit year in pop music history, selling more records than all years before and after it combined, at least thats what Chris Charlesworth reported in his DP biography in 84… could be different now, but I somehow doubt that.
