Old Grey Whistle Test 1987
This is an episode of the Old Grey Whistle Test from 1987. The show includes TV crew following UK fans of a trip to Paris, brief interviews with Roger and Ritchie and some overdubbed concert footage (with Ritchie tasting a bit of his own poison):
Thanks to Mike Garrett for spotting this one.
Very nice. Thanks!

June 29th, 2007 at 14:16Yes that was the days of Deep Purple, THE Deep Purple.
June 29th, 2007 at 15:39I like them today, BUT Mark II will to me ALWAYS be “my” Deep Purple. The sound, the magic, the faces, the…. well everything was just Deep Purple. It migt sound silly and I might be an old fart, but I cant help it.
So for the few minutes from the concert was enough for me to like this little piece on the internet.
Give me more!!!
Whats gets me is that there is no official dvd of a full concert, from the 80’s . The Paris gig was filmed in 85 but is out as a bootleg . A complete concert was filmed in Sydney but for legal reason this has never been released . How can this happed the great reunion of Deep Purple an no complete concert out on dvd all you have is the New Live And Rare dvd.
June 30th, 2007 at 11:09shame there is too much preamble and not enough of the band.
I found the girl really irratating.
July 6th, 2007 at 21:08Ah…………so if Ritchie refuses to do an encore it’s splashed all over the place, but if it’s the other way round………………………..Mind you, having heard Gillans voice from that night i’m not suprised he didn’t come back on.
