A Cold Evening In Hell
I’m back home from Hell Blues Festival in Norway. Last friday 22.05, Deep Purple went on stage. It was an outdoor concert and it was quite cold. Deep Purple made a solid concert with a mixture of old and new songs.

Will be in Montreux. Happy to see that they may have added Strange Kind of Woman and When a Blind Man Cries. Hope they keep them. Would also want to hear Clearly Quite Absurd, but it doesn’t seem likely. My wife and I look forward to seeing everyone in Montreux.
June 27th, 2006 at 15:18Please note that the festival formerly known as the Hell Blues Festival is now the Hell Music Festival (http://www.hellmusicfestival.no/) to get rid of the blues restraint. A crowd of 5.000 were in attendance, and the concert got great reviews in Norwegian papers, as did the other Norwegian gigs in Tromsø (June 21.), Bodø (June 22.), and Bergen (June 24.).

Cold weather yes, but when DP entered the stage the cold winds just blew…yeah, -right to Hell.
The DP guys looked pleased on the stage, much from the great response from the audience, when Ia G. said: “You are an awesome audioence” I did believe him. And they deserved it. These old guys are really still rockin’

July 8th, 2006 at 14:54I was at the Tromso gig, and they were awesome. You could realy see they enjoyed themselves on stage. Btw this was also Don’s birthday, which the rest of the band did not let pass unnoticed. Here is the review and also an interview with Gillan which unveils that Smoke On The Water first just was a filler for the record. It’s all in norwegian, but you can see that the gig got the best review there is.

All the reviews of the ROTD tour have been very positive, a few negs, mostly niggling stuff, but overall, it seems a thumbs up kind of review for every show. Hopefully they’ll visit Houston, TX when the finally land in the states. I think the Woodlands Pavillion is ready for the return of Deep Purple…
