Rock In Rio
I saw Deep Purple Rock in Rio (Rio de Janeiro) the other night. It was a late show, no opening act and Deep Purple hit the stage around 11 pm. “Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye” was really hard live. Other new songs was, “Rapture Of The Deep” and “Wrong Man”. Liked the new intro to Highway Star. Looking forward to hear more of “Rapture” live when the tour hits Europe next year.
Now, did they really replace Fireball with Pictures Of Home as opener as reported on the DPAS site for the São Paulo gig?
November 6th, 2005 at 19:10YES!!!
At the second gig in São Paulo, they played Pictures of Home instead Fireball, and Speed King instead Hush… which returned at the concert in Rio.

November 7th, 2005 at 07:55I was there too, front row, sneaked backstage to get some autographs.
The set was almost the same as 1st date in Sao Paolo. The audience was not packed but we had almost a 3.000 people. I liked Rapture of the Deep. I wish they could change the set a little bit to fit some Bananas and Purpendicular songs (like Ted)
Dear Benny,
November 8th, 2005 at 02:48For the intro of Highway Star… I’m deadly wonder how it was changed. I’d appreciate it if you would describe it.
Benny, are you still in Brazil? Were you in São Paulo in nov 1?
November 8th, 2005 at 10:51Me and my wife was backstage after the concert in Rio (which was the only gig we saw), talked to Roger, Don, Paicey and a few others. I`m not in Brazil now, I`m in Peru.

November 8th, 2005 at 12:36Ah. I was backstage in São Paulo after the concert. I would never forgive myself if I had seen someone whose posts I know and had not greeted properly.
November 9th, 2005 at 09:44I attended the show of November 1th. Fantastic! New musics are very good. Don Arey is sensational! I noticed that the Glover is if strengtheing to touch of a different skill. It seems that he and Paice are changing the skill to touch it show to have more freedom. It was incredible!! I love they!
