I WAS THERE! GREAT SET LIST,THOUGH I MISSED KNOCKING AT YOUR BACK DOOR AND FIREBALL. PAICE, GLOVER,AIREY AND MORSE IN TOP FORM. VOCALS SOUNDED A LITTLE TIRED,AND MOST OF TIME I COULDN’T HEAR THEM CLEARLY.THEY DID A GOOD SHOW. SOUND(6/10) DEEP PURPLE (8/10)
March 9th, 2008 at 20:27The setlist has been bothering me for some time now: they play almost twenty songs of which only three to four are new material. Why do they intentionally promote themselves as a CLASSIC ROCK band? As I have understood Mr Gillan is severely against the classic rock band image.
March 11th, 2008 at 10:00You’re right, Rop. They’ve been doing that since the first day. But from what I get, they play the classic for the sake of most audience. Look in most reviews, variety of ages in the audience were diverse (may of them still young, teenagers)and that is unbelievable for the seventies band. Think positive, they became bigger because Machine H,In Rock, and Perfect St. At least they (rest of Mrk II) did not force Morse (the most outstanding guitarist) and Airey (new life of DP) to follow Blackmore and Lord shit (let alone Highway Star, Lazy, and Smoke On The Water) and do all the classic tracks, only the famous ones the did from time to time with most of them being re-arranged. I am agree with you, beside the classics, they should add more Morse tracks such Screaming,Stole My Guitar,69,got Your number,Wrong Man. Maybe not for regular basis, but it will be the cherry on the cake.
March 11th, 2008 at 11:18I WAS THERE! and I’m 20 years old =) it was so great for me! I catched the first pick that Roger Glover threw to the audience =D I was right in front of him! Agree with the sound, it was kinda bad and I could see it in the band, they were a little frustrated sometimes (Gillan moving the bass’ speaker and all) but it was still a great show. SO impressed with Steve Morse, loved all the solos, LOVED Roger Glover and loved Ian Gillan although his voice was indeed sounding a bit tired, but still incredible none the less. A great experience for me, being 20 and listening to the classics as well as the new tracks. It was great. Wish they had played Speed King because it’s one of my favorite songs but that doesn’t mean I walked out unhappy. Thanks for the great music!!!!

I agree with Ritchie ‘s comment on Come Hell Or High Water dvd. The band are just a nostalgia act , look here how many old songs are being played . Why not more from the Steve Morse era. Who care’s about hearing Somke On The Water, Highwater Star and Blacknight all The Time. In the 70,’s how many albums were made ‘ lot’s , they should made a super album and focus on now, and more Steve Morse material.
March 14th, 2008 at 10:46They play what the majority of the crowd want to hear. Try to get that…
March 15th, 2008 at 15:29No they play what Ian Gillan wants he is the leader of the band now. Fans have said in reviews that they wish to hear Burn, Mistreated, Stormbringer & Bolin songs but he refuses to sing them , try to understand that!
March 28th, 2008 at 10:02MADE IN CARACAS , DEPUES DE UNA LARGA ESPERA PUDIMOS DISFRUTAR DE UNA DE LAS BANDAS MAS IMPORTANTES DEL MUNDO, CON UNA TRAYECTORIA DE 40 AÑOS EN ESCENA, FUE UNA NOCHE ESPECTACULAR, DONDE LE PUBLICO Y LA BANDA SE COMPENETRARON MUTUAMENTE, PIENSO QUE EL GRUPO SE SINTIO MUY A GUSTO EN SU ESTADIA AQUI EN VENEZUELA ,Y ESPERAMOS QUE VUELVAN EL AÑO, QUE VIENE PERO EN OTRO RECINTO .
