Cold Lord excells Start: 8:30pm Encore: It was obvious that Jon had a bad cold and was feeling unwell throughout the show, but his performance did not suffer from it one bit, and everyone else was in top form too. (Jon told me afterwards he's had a bad flu for the last couple of days. Some of the others also looked worn out/tired/ill - not IG though!) People I spoke after the show seem to agree that it was one of the best shows so far, or "at least as good as Nottingham (which has been the best so far before this one :-)" I obviously can't judge, as this was my first show on this tour, and also because I was bang in front of Roger (ie. 5-6 metres away from his amps!) so I couldn't hear much of Jon's keyboards or some of the vocals at all. Still, I thought CIT was really impressive, and the new one sounded promising too. (And it was nice to see Roger at play so close up and see/hear all the details - funnily enough, this was my first chance to do so - normally I'm on the other side.) Oh, the Planets were good, but I don't know if I'll want to see them more than a couple of times. Nigel.D.Young added: And they've been doodling around before Speed King with a cowboy-Chinese, etc number. It won't be on the album... And, yes, RG regularly sends out quite a few plectrums. These are different to the last ones I saw.
