The Last Goodbye

A second single The Last Goodbye from the upcoming Candice Night’s solo album Sea Glass has been released. This is the track with Ritchie Blackmore making a guest appearance on guitar, but lowering your expectations is in order. There are no fiery solos, and his contribution can be described as ‘some acoustic accompaniment’.

Thanks to BraveWords for the heads-up.

I don’t listen to it, I feel so sad when I think that 30 years ago I was here

I wonder if Ritchie will ever join DP for one last goodbye. It would be a lovely ending to say goodbye and we can say thank you for the music.
    Peace ✌️

It’s not overtly emotional at all. As somber and subdued as a scene from a Steven Spielberg movie.

Best watched while standing on one leg.

1995 I was in the very first rows, so there weren’t all those alienating cell phones but only arms raised full of enthusiasm, joy and adrenaline. Already with the intro of the concert the roar of the people was sky high.. I feel nostalgic for the past. That formation of the band was also great even if unfortunately they only made one album: too bad.

    Gad.
Remember when Ritchie played session guitar on a new song, and we would be all excited to hear it?
    Not here.
    Bring back Glenda Collins!

@1… All we have are the memories now. Which are some of the best times in my life. Thank you Ritchie.

Edith says it‘s a nice number, well-sung and that Candice‘s voice has come a long way, developing a warm timbre and eschewing melismas and squeaky acrobatics popular with so many female singers of her generation (or younger).

I guess if you want to describe the number positively then you can say it’s ethereal.

I prefer my female singers a bit more broken/damaged goods:

Candice always sounds eager to please and a little too perfect.

Ritchie‘s acoustic guitar is tastefully song-serving, he didn‘t want to turn his wife‘s album in a guitar showcase for his devotees.

Lyrics are a bit telling … trouble in the Blackmore’s Night camp?

when i see Blackmore (in this video) I retrace my steps because I think he eats all the others who came after him. Blackmore with the guitar is the most enchanting.
