Music for your first necking & petting experiences, parental absence advised. Timeless.

And I’ll even have to buy it. 😑

Love the photo wallpaper look of the album cover too, très 70s …

@ 2- that is what I thought the first BN album was, way back in the late 90’s. Oh how wrong I was. Cheers.

Between finding a Prince for Autumn and driving Rory to guitar lessons, he just doesn‘t find the time, Timmi. Traffic on Long Island is horrible.

An alternative country version of one of the songs doesn‘t bode well – it might give Ritchie ideas again. 😟

I actually like this. It’s got a little grit to it. It’s a little rough around the edges. Her vocals sound really strong.
It’s got my attention. I will be interested in hearing the country version. I’ll be streaming this album. I also wld like to hear Ritchie’s contribution.

    Uwe Hornung says:

It’s certainly preferable to about 80% of BN’s output, Dave. I find Candice (who is not a bad singer) more credibly with country pop than pretending to be a European Renaissance minstrel bride.

Did watch the video with my loved one. Now I have got a lot of explaining to do. Must have been the worst video even AI put on the screen ever. And while the song itself is rather mediocre pop-country of the kind that is popular in the US, the instrumentation sounds like AI generated too. Tin soldiers at work. Not a grain of soul in it. The singing is ok though. But being a copy writer I am currently brainstorming for a word that defines kitsch².

In all its AI babes glory …

“What’s a poor boy gonna do? When he’s caught between those two …”

Why the heck would a healthy guy wanna choose between the two (and cruelly break the sisters apart to boot?)?

The song’s protagonist seems kinda awkward/oafish to me in other ways too:

“Couldn’t tell if he was in …”

Wot? Shouldn’t that have been a clear indication for Jezebel then? 🤣

Ritchie really shouldn’t allow his wife going off on lyrical ambiguities like that if you ask me … 😑

And I’ll go back listening to some real new country babes, why stop at two when you can have three?

Wot, never heard of the three sister blondes from Georgia? The Castellows have been lauded as the new New Country hope since 2022 or so …

My son, an intolerant “real country” purist, calls them “that Instagram ‘band’ with the hydrogen peroxide endorsement”. 🤣

They are a bit the female version of these very popular guys here (Midland):

who receive more than a bit of flak from real country purists for allegedly being “fake country accent” (= warrants immediate lynching in ‘real country’ circles) Eagles epigones. The lead singer has sure heard his share of Glenn Frey, he’s kind of the baritone version of Frey’s tenor voice. But then Frey was make believe country too, rather than coming from a farm and the South he was a city slicker from Detroit and an early buddy of Bob Seger.

    Max says:

Yep, Midland I know of… I even own a cd or two. They’re fun. And funny it is that some artists in that genre are really superstars in the US and don’t leave any impression here. Like Gretchen Wilson or Reba Mcentire. There is a lot to discover for open minded people. And even Ian Paice said something like he sticks to Country music nowadays in search of a decent song.

    Fla76 says:

very well sung and played song, melodic.

I realized that I never talked about Candice, in my opinion she is a very good singer, perfect intonation, excellent vocal range and technique
in my opinion he can sing anything and he sings it well.

with a bit of emphasis on nasalization he could easily sing Stevie Nicks’ songs

I think Candice is a great singer, much more than many successful pop singers
