Purple Orange amp giveaway
Orange Amplifiers in cooperation with Premier Guitar will be giving away the Glenn Hughes Signature Crush Bass 50 amp(s). You can enter the giveaway until November 18, 2024 via this link.
Thanks to Premier Guitar for the heads-up.
An ORANGE amp in purple just ain’t right. Ritchie’s grandmother didn’t want any of this I’m sure.
A self-ignition toggle switch captioned “BURN !!!” would have been quite something though.

September 21st, 2024 at 00:20@ 1 – ha ha ha, yes I do often wonder if Ritchie & Ian Paice still having to wear a head piece has a lot to do with the Cal Jam stage explosion. Blackmore is probably still paying for Paice’s & I can just hear him cursing the roadie or his guitar tech from the Cal Jam. “I distinctly told him to place 500ml of petrol in that tray, not 4 litres, these wigs are costing me a fortune.” Glenn seems to still have his natural mane, or does he? Jon Lord & David Coverdale were the only safe band members that day. God knows what may have happened to some of the roadies & stage crew. No doubt the crowd loved it though, rock ‘n roll eh! Cheers.
September 21st, 2024 at 02:31I seriously doubt that what we see with Glenn today is all and only his real hair. At the very least there are extensions now that he wears his hair long again and his hairline seems bolstered as well. Plus, he’s from California, where full hair at his age is generally as real as the hip and/or knee joints of the wearer (for the record: I have a replacement knee joint too and already got it in my late 50s).
All good, he can do what he likes with his hair, but I wouldn’t mind if he had a shaved crew-cut with a receding hairline either.
September 21st, 2024 at 14:55I remember someone saying that the explosion at the Cal Jam was so powerful & hot that it blew Ian Paice’s glasses off & singed his hair. It could have been Hughes saying that on that video. Just remembering all that drama & exaggerating the long term effects of it all in a humorous way. I wouldn’t doubt that California dream look these days. Better than a shaved crew cut though for me. But that could be my loathing for that style as we were made to have it at school & no one else in the entire school had that. Long hair is much better than no hair in my world. Cheers.
September 21st, 2024 at 23:58If you’re a lifelong Priest fan like me, you learn to realize that there is no relevant relationship between amount of hair and amount of Rock’n’Roll …

Halford might have hid his sexuality for a long time, but he realized soon that his thin hair would be a fleeting experience for him and he never tried to cover that.
