According to the German online retailer JPC, the next Deep Purple single from =1 will arrive on June 28, and it will be in physical form. The track to be released is Pictures of You, and the formats will include CD and vinyl.
Thanks to Merlijn for the info.
Wouldn’t be surprised if “Lazy Sod” is digitally released before that.
May 5th, 2024 at 12:21The cover reminds me of coffee beans, the brownish color too, will it be offered at selected Starbucks restaurants? “Two lattes and the new Purple single to go please!” 🤣

May 6th, 2024 at 10:02This is Maxi single!
So, as last time with Throw my bones/Man Alive/Power of the Moon, it for sure will include Portable door and maybe second official digital single and maybe a live version of an old hit.

May 7th, 2024 at 05:15JPC have pulled the pre order from their website. My order did not get cancelled so I think possibly JPC just put the pre order up sooner than they were supposed to and got asked to take it back down.
May 7th, 2024 at 15:26Thanks for posting that appreciation of Portable Door by Nick Foley, Roy! It’s indeed interesting to hear an analysis from a keyboarder for once.
May 7th, 2024 at 23:48@ 3- yes indeed thanks for that keyboard analysis, good to see. Cheers.
May 8th, 2024 at 06:11Yo,
I thought that it’s best to post in here, as it’s the most recent suitable thread re the new-album…
So…The official DP website sent me a link to pre-order any of the offers for the new album, & its boxed-set release(s)…Anyhow, the links provided offered an official Australian distributor to pre-order through, namely JB Hi-Fi…
So-what you say, what’s the big-deal in that when you could have pre-ordered through here ???
The big-deal is a great-deal, where I get the new “Album & DVD” boxed-set for only $34:00 AUD delivered to my door…That’s a ****’n great deal !!!
Kudos, & many thanks to the band for such a reasonable price to pay for a new release, when our Oz-dollar is so poor in its exchange-rate…I thought I’d be paying much more for this release, but patience prevailed, & I doubt very-much Amazon or the like could do better…And it makes-up-a-little for not being able to see the boys at the dodgy festival in Melbournetown.
It should arrive about a week after the release date.
Anyone in Australia who is not registered to the official DP website & would like this deal or any of the others available, should check-out the JB Hi-fi website, & search-out the pre-order requisites etc etc. There’s a chat / help service available, & you may well need it, as I had to try a number of times to get through check-out etc etc, though it’s likely I was trying to purchase before the offer(s) were fully up-&-running.
Peace !
May 9th, 2024 at 07:09@ 10 – interesting about JB HI-FI having that link available. Years ago I used to purchase import cd’s & DVD’s through that store on the Gold Coast & in Brisbane city. They were great for that back then. however these days they don’t seem to bother with certain imports or rarer not as commercially popular music. I have asked out of curiosity about a few artists over recent years but after looking at their computer they give me the proverbial, ‘that doesn’t seem to be available I’m sorry”. They seem to have dropped imports compared to what it was like 15 to 20 years ago. That is a good price indeed. I suppose Deep Purple are not as rare as King Crimson or the like. Better to get directed to JB HI FI than that huge river system from South America, as Uwe amusingly puts it. Cheers.
May 9th, 2024 at 08:46Just watched the new video “Portable Door” and loved it. Can’t wait to see them, got my ticket for Essen 25th Oct.
May 9th, 2024 at 09:45@11…
I was expecting to pay close to double-the-price or even more…Little Feat’s new pre-ordered CD was just under $60:00, & that’s CD only. Everything purchased from the US-of-A via mail is a disgraceful rip-off…(Always check for an e-bay or Amazon listing first, as these guys somehow have the postage fees under-control…Hmmm)…
I won’t venture into the costs of some SpaceHog sampler CD’s that I recently acquired, as they included some non-album tracks, but thankfully some were available elsewhere & overall, offset the US-of-A postage costs, & balanced-out the rip-off, into a worth-while gain.
I do have some rare music, but SpaceHog are awesome imo, & the hard-to-get / find stuff was worth paying for. Thankfully, that chase is now over. I’d been watching these listings for years, & the prices or availability never changed…The same listings, same prices…
Peace !
