A freshly coiffed DC

David Coverdale recently appeared on That Rocks! podcast. He talks about flying in hairdressers, the future of Whitesnake, brutalist architecture, and the “nether region”, among other things. Some of which you may or may not have heard previously. The episode is over 1 hour and 20 minutes long, and David joins about halfway into it.

Thanks to Blabbermouth for the info.

My wife, my daughter and my granddaughter say” That David’s new hairstyle is so good”, says …”He is still sexy”.

It’s much better than what he had before. More Jane Fonda, less Farrah Fawcett.

We should all write Cindy letters of heartfelt thanks.

Sorry guys but when all the talk is about the hair cut and not the music then you know it’s seriously over music wise for DC so happy retirement.
On the other hand someone by the name of Ian Gillan is growing his hair long so things are evenly balanced in the DP family tree.
    Peace ✌️

Usually people, maybe certain women, cut off their hair when in mourning or making a new start.

Had the idea that Mister Gillan, once my rolemodel regarding hair and more, was getting bald. Maybe Glenn and Paicey procedure?

RV really knows all that wimmin’ folk inside out, you’ve gotta hand it to him.

Ian Gillan actually changed his look much more often than DC did. Even back in the 70ies his hair would go from very long to short(er), from straight to wavy and back, he’d wear a beard (to Ritchie’s chagrin) or not. I always had the impression he tried to escape the JC Superstar look, but would revert to it in default mode.

His hair was probably longest around the Born Again era (that was approaching biblical Samson style), perhaps he was trying to match a certain occult look (though he mostly refrained to wear the mandatory black) with the Brummies.

I like him with shorter hair today (but longer is fine as well) and I don’t mind his balding rear pate at all. Kudos for not covering it up. Except with Joe LT (who had/has a medical condition and is therefore pardoned) I always winced at other Purple members doing that.

I sometimes wonder how Tommy Bolin would look today had he cleaned up his act – he’d be 71 by now. A bit like his brother Johnnie perhaps?

They looked almost like identical twins when they were young.

And what kind of music would he playing? Would he be throwing in a Lady Luck once in a while at his age-appropriate unplugged gigs?
