    Martin Ashberry says:

Fuck me sideways… the amount of milketing of fans is just depressing. At least add some bonus tracks, new/rare pics or something to justify another daylight robbery of the back catalogue.

It is that time of year again folks. It is poor old Santa I feel sorry for. Dragging all these re releases, best of greatest hits etc out every year for xmas, not to mention trying to descend the chimneys in everyone’s homes. Then he has to drag them all the way back up again because most people are not interested, again. Merry Xmas Santa & yes that is a hint not to bother dropping into my abode, again. Unless you have something really exciting that I have never heard before. Cheers.

@1……They can keep releasing what ever they want, and you don’t have to buy…….just relax a little!

    Anders Hjemdahl says:

Martin Ashberry Well nobody’s forced to buy them, so daylight robbery it is not…

I now and then have this craze in which I want it all and tend my order myself silly.

Fortunately I m relatively measured after all these years
I behave as the fan who knows he had to drag himself out of a financial black hole and that it took him years.

Although I have this craving for certain remasters and purple vinyl, I have restrained myself again.

I did pre order a Blackmore photobook and 1 CD of Last Cracks “The Uprising”.

I also bought myself a ticket for LAST IN LINE.

Btw, I still have from both Bananas and Now What a copy to sell.

UMG released these albums about a year ago. I have no complain about these Purple reissues by Rhino, I’m sure I’ll try to buy some, but what about “Abandon” and “Bananas”?!

    “Abandon” and “Bananas”, please!

    Gerd says:

Hi, why does nobody miss the studio album Abandon on vinyl as much as I do? And why isn’t it finally released on vinyl, because there was only a tiny, quickly sold-out edition in 1998. Deep Purple albums are constantly being reissued, but the missing Abandon never? Best wishes Gerd

    Uwe Hornung says:

“Hi, why does nobody miss the studio album Abandon on vinyl as much as I do?”

Mainly because I prefer my music with strong subsonic bass frequencies and when sitting on my porch listening to it find physical media more trustworthy that doesn’t melt in the sun! Does that answer the question? 😉

But for listening to music in the dark at cool temperatures quietly so that most of the bass is not heard anyway, vinyl is really unbeatable.
