Actually enjoyed being in the studio
Ian Paice talks about the new album, its producer, the band, the setlist, the music, and the eventuality of retirement to France’s Metal XS. The questions are edited out, for some reason or another, but it’s not difficult to piece it together.
Thanks to Nigel Young for the info.
“because we can do everything we do everything”
And that is why Deep Purple is the best band ever.
May 1st, 2017 at 07:19For most of the people the attitude toward the skins basher usually is: “Oh, who’s that guy?? Naaah, he’s just a drummer – oomph-bah, oomp-bah”. You can easily tell Ian Paice can’t ever be categorized that way. It’s great to hear him talk and elaborate; just as joyous is listening to him playing drums. Big respect, Sir!

May 1st, 2017 at 23:01If next time Ian could chat over a table in my local watering hole, it would be an improvement – otherwise this is suuuuuppeeerrrb! Thanks
May 3rd, 2017 at 00:19I think he is by now the most thoughtful and interesting interview partner of all five Purps.
May 3rd, 2017 at 10:01What is very nice thing about this current line up is everybody is ‘available’ for Interviews… and everybody seems very happy to do it. And the main line, everybody is each 1/5 of the band, no apparent boss or leader when speaking to his fans, to people. Ian Paice proved it, looks like he is the most thoughtful and retrospective member in interviews (look also at his speech on RRHoF), rarely see a famous band’s drummer like him in interviews.
