That’s because Steve has a lot of wisdom to share! And I wish more people were like him, there are definitely enough people in showbusiness that could use a good lesson about humility and respect!
I had my doubts when they decided to ask Steve Morse to join the band years back in 95 but he has not only proved he is a brilliant guitarist but he is such a great human being with a humble personality. Same goes to Don.
Steve is now a personal hero of mine because of his answer to number three. His whole person was visibly altered just at the thought of the questions concept, and the offensive nature of an affirmative response. I have a couple of friends who have worked with him in clubs/theaters. Both say that among the musicians they have met and worked with, that Steve at all times carries himself as a gentleman. He wants not special treatment. He’s a musician, and he is there to perform. Not be a dick.
I think the reason Roger was the only one to answer yes to the third one asked is because I remember a long time ago he told a story that he was traveling to a show and his flights were very delayed. He thought he was never gonna make it so he ask the authority at the airport if they could help him out. If I remember correctly he said ” Look I never play the rock star card but I’m in a bind and if I don’t show up a lot of people are going to be very angry. I don’t want a riot started because of me can you help me out”? The police officer knew who he was and got him to the show on time. I think that might be why he answered yes. Roger is one of the nicest people I have ever met and I don’t think he would ever be anything but a great guy.
Glad he did. Steve is a wise person.
