All I Got Is You and Johnny’s Band
Two more tracks from the upcoming Deep Purple albums inFinite have been published. We don’t have the means to embed them here, so here are the instruction on how you can listen.
All I Got Is You: go to bcfmradio.com/andyfox, click on ’21:00 – 02/03/2017′ (third link in the Recent Broadcasts list), and skip to around 47 minute mark. Caveat: it’s in pretty piss poor sound quality due to heavy compression, but gives you an idea nevertheless.
Johnny’s Band: go to www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b08gmqwc, start the player and skip to 2:02:35. The track is described as a ‘new single’ and is edited down to 3 minutes.
Thanks to Nigel Young for the info.
I prefer to buy the album and listen to the tunes in great quality the first time I hear them. But to each his/her own.
March 6th, 2017 at 16:32Thanks, I can wait 🙂
March 6th, 2017 at 17:02I’l buy the record. .it’s simple as that…
March 6th, 2017 at 17:08Lazy
March 6th, 2017 at 17:57True.The sound is so compressed and awful, but I could not help myself but listen to them.I especially love All I got is you, very Progg and rock song.I cannot wait to buy the album and listen to it properly.
March 6th, 2017 at 18:01I’ll wait as well, better in Hughes quality, I’ll keep waiting for my big box set
March 6th, 2017 at 18:09Being a little determined, a little stubborn, after seeing a wonderful stage performance (the return of Jon Lord), I followed the link, A very long podcast.
March 6th, 2017 at 18:15can’t get All I Got to work, but Johnny’s Band sounds like something off of ROTD….kinda disappointed but will give it a fair listen on the real cd
March 6th, 2017 at 19:27great song!!! better than Time for Bedlam…but both superbs…
March 6th, 2017 at 19:45Johnny’s Band sounds like it belongs on an Ian Gillan Solo Disc
March 6th, 2017 at 20:17Brilliant, thank you
March 6th, 2017 at 20:21Me like.
March 6th, 2017 at 23:18Thanks! I listened to and like both songs. The sound quality is not so bad. All I Got is You rocks pretty hard although I am not a fan of synthesizer keyboard solos. Johnny’s Band is in a more of a classic rock direction.
March 7th, 2017 at 02:21Sorry but I couldnt wait haha. I listened just once all I got is you and I loved the moog!!!
March 7th, 2017 at 03:09What’s that fussabout prog rock?! I don’t get it. Purple has always been about simple riff-driven rock and roll songs not prog rock. Some of the recent songs are just boring. I realise I’m in a minority here but hey, it’s about rock and roll. I always loved them beacuse they had never been as boring as ELP, Yes or some other big prog rock acts. And now, they aim in becoming a prog rock band. Sorry to say this, guys, but you’ve lost it for me.
March 7th, 2017 at 06:19Couldn’t be arsed sitting through other ssssstuff
March 7th, 2017 at 09:29Just got to know that Roadhouse Blues really is a cover song originally recorded by the Doors. Actually, I’m very earger to have a listen to it. It’s a great song.

March 7th, 2017 at 16:30All I got is you sounds like David Byron Uriah Heep. Johnny’s Band sounds like.. not Purple..?

March 8th, 2017 at 20:49If you revisit the Ken Bruce show link, you’ll see that there has been a positive reaction to the song, in Today’s Most Popular Tracks and Johnny’s Band has now been picked up for BBC Radio 2’s playlist for the week commencing Saturday. http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/playlist#b
March 8th, 2017 at 23:03(Just a guess but there might be a new video or lyric video coming tomorrow for it, unless today’s tease is related to the documentary.)

All I Got Is You has been on the radio twice already. Much much better than Time for Bedlam. Thankfully DP can still deliver good songs, the instrumental breakdown is really good!
March 9th, 2017 at 16:36I will wait for the Album – LP – and then i will hear it – the last Album from the best band of the world – in Stuttgart ( Germany ) i will enjoy my 72 DP Gig
March 9th, 2017 at 19:31#15 —-> But Dave, DP have been on a Prog trip ever since Purpendicular – and with two musicians having strong Prog roots (Morse = Dixie Dregs & Kansas, Airey = Colosseum II) what else do you expect?!
And I think it was a good, even necessary change too as – now this will get me slaughtered here, Blackmore acolytes draw out your foils now … – but by the time of The Battle Rages On, Blackmore’s standard recipe (catchy riff, relatively straightforward song structure otherwise) had run its course. There I said it. Not every band has to play Blackmore’s Night chord changes (largely identical with Rainbow ones), you know. ; – )
There is another advantage: Playing Prog allows you to grow gracefully old as a band (as DP have done), while hard or heavy rock reqires youthful gung ho attitude to be at its best.
All that said: Fireball was to my ears a pure-bred Prog album and the Mark I and II line ups always retained a Prog character which only Mark III and IV gave up on (though they had qualities of their own). And I do remember clearly from my school days in the 70ies how the Prog clique raised on ELP, Tull, Genesis, Yes and Floyd would pour derision over hard rock acts such as Uriah Heep, Status Quo, UFO, Nazareth and Black Sabbath, but were graceful with Zep and Purple (“at least the old stuff” – meaning Mark II). I believe they heard something familiar to their tastes in the latters’ music.
March 10th, 2017 at 17:33Roger was interviewed on BBC Radio Wales on Alan Thompson’s show, the feature ran from around 11:25pm to midnight. Tracks played were Time For Bedlam, Johnny’s Band, Since You Been Gone and Smoke. It’ll be on listen again later. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b08h9dh8
March 13th, 2017 at 00:18Online now, it starts at around 23:35.
March 13th, 2017 at 01:1828 – I wish there will be one more album in the future aptly called 21 (same as Adele’s great record some years back) – why not! Actually Why Not?I is another great album title! Time will show.
March 13th, 2017 at 05:42I enjoyed the video. DP rocks no matter who is in it. No live band improvised like DP. Curious about the plate of spaghetti in the face. Was that a jab at the Ritchie, Ian incident lol
