Get your passports ready
The first two more or less credible dates for Blackmore’s foray into rock have surfaced.
German company Shooter Promotions have announced that he will headline the two Monsters of Rock events in the country: June 17 at the Lorelei Freilichtbühne (open air amphitheater in picturesque settings on the Rhine) and June 18 in Bietigheim-Bissingen near Stuttgart. His appearance is billed as Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow, complete with Rising logo and artwork. However, there’s still no word who else will be in the band.
Tickets for both events go on sale November 6.
Shooter Promotions is a well established agency operating out of Frankfurt, and have organized concerts by Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, Joe Satriani, and many other well knows acts.
These dates have yet to be confirmed by Blackmore’s management, so proceed with extra caution.
Thanks to Lutz Reinert for the info.
Looks like Shooter Promotions shot their bolt early as it caught the Blackmores on the hop apparently…?
October 23rd, 2015 at 19:05The german text on the linked website http://www.monsters-of-rock-germany.de/ also mentions that these are two out of only three planned concerts world-wide by “Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow”:
October 23rd, 2015 at 19:14Jetzt schreibt der Ausnahme-Gitarrist erneut Geschichte und wird auf den beiden deutschen Konzerten (von insgesamt nur dreien weltweit!) seine größten Hits aus Deep Purple- und Rainbow-Zeiten präsentieren.
I hope he plays more dates.but hen again this is pushing it.

October 23rd, 2015 at 20:24Maybe “two of only three gigs worldwide!” only means the Monsters of Rock Festivals and not all of his scheduled rock concerts next year. But it’s RB, who knows?! Just wait and see. 😉
October 23rd, 2015 at 20:24Got my tickets…..Woops…I guess I don’t!
October 23rd, 2015 at 23:01Don’t blow it all out of proportion, this is just a break from the routine, a few live concerts… for fun. That’s it. However, it could be just a little bit different to what you might be expecting. Less chatter & more Imagination….
October 24th, 2015 at 02:41It’s exciting to think about, but it also makes me wonder if he’ll stand behind his amps and play, or walk off after 15 minutes, or not play the big songs people want to hear just because he’s not “feeling it”. I hope it goes brilliantly, but he is an erratic guy.
October 24th, 2015 at 11:10What a suprise, he always plays in Germany, not a very big deal for me tho i live in the Netherlands so i might as well make a day or a nice weekend out of this.
October 24th, 2015 at 13:31but then again, there are more people out there who would love to see Ritchie play some rock again.
why not spread out the dates a bit give other people a chance to see Ritchie.
I believe there are four confirmed dates but only two have been announced so far, all in Europe.
October 24th, 2015 at 19:32I would rather have an album of new material than a few concerts across the ocean. Perhaps the experience will inspire Blackmore to make a recorded musical statement.
October 25th, 2015 at 05:17Sink or swim this river, Ritchie. Yet to be seen before even the mildest satisfaction can be had, not because of him but who he’s selected. They could deliver or completely bemuse. All yet to be seen in a slightly dangerous stunt to pay some bills or just add to the kids college funds, whichever it may be for.
October 25th, 2015 at 21:37I completly agree with Boswell (number 8 ) ..Blackmore is an erratic guy.. who knows what he will play.. I don’t know.. I don’t expect too much from this “shows” … Please do not surprise if Candice is the singer for “Stargazer” or they play violin instead of guitar… I will sit and wait for the DVD
October 26th, 2015 at 02:16@12 Why don’t you just enjoy the moment instead of making daft posts about Ritchie needing to pay bills etc. Why is it a ‘dangerous stunt’ ? You do know that Ritchie has played ‘rock’ music before and you do know that he doesn’t need the money..right? I don’t really share your negativity and skepticism..sorry
October 26th, 2015 at 07:44much ado about nothing…and it’s already going wrong promo wise
October 26th, 2015 at 13:06Anthony @ 14 – excellent comment, I was going to post yesterday with a similar comment. So much negative dribble from certain ‘fans’ here, rubbish indeed! Why comment at all? Why not wait & see what Blackmore delivers? Cheers.
October 26th, 2015 at 20:16“Those who are not with me are against me”, somebody once said,,, well that goes for the man in black as well. Who are you out there in silly silly land trying to tell Ritchie how to live his life, where to play, what to play, with whom… let the man be and just enjoy this moment, your either with him or against him! I know what I am, Im with him!!
October 26th, 2015 at 21:31Wow this is like the ultimate dream come true. I need to hit the lottery to get over in Germany to see one of the greatest guitarist of all time.
October 26th, 2015 at 23:04This is nothing but a good thing for one and all.
October 27th, 2015 at 03:22Can,t wait to hear that vicious sounding Strat fired in anger!
October 27th, 2015 at 06:51@ 14 Said mister Little
October 29th, 2015 at 22:07Some of these negative comments crack me up. Nobody has forced RB to play these shows, it was his decision to do them after all. Nobody has ever told Ritchie to do anything he didn’t want to do after he left DP the first time around in April of 1975 (except maybe for Candice and maybe thru her… his mother in law!) Obviously Candy said: Go for it Ritchie…whatever makes you happy as long as I can sing backup during ‘Ariel’ and maybe some others like I did on the Rainbow SIUA shows during the mid 90’s!” As far as walking off stage… ridiculous! I am not saying that the shows could not be cancelled for some reason due to RB or his new band, but beleive me, if the shows come off, I believe he is going to blow some minds! His playing in Blackmore’s Night being as structured as the songs are, have brought a discipline to his playing that when unleashed in a looser rock format, will allow him to improvise and let loose all his pent up genius that has lain dormant for the most part since Blackmore’s Nights inception! I’m just disappointed I cannot afford to make the trip to ‘The Olde Country’ to see RB play rock probably for the last time! As my maternal grandfather came to the USA around 1930, it would have been nice to catch the show and then visit relatives in Norway. I guess I will have to settle for the DVD then!
November 1st, 2015 at 01:40I’m most certainly going to see this (it’s almost in front of my doorstep!).
Last time I saw RB was 1993 with DP in Mannheim.
I missed JL on his Solo Concerts (I actually had tickets for a 11/2011 show in Wiesbaden that got cancelled due to his illness …). I won’t miss this chance to probably see RB for the last time. And I’ll most certainly get the recording(s) of the show(s), too.
And DP Nov. 28 in Stuttgart is on my schedule, too 😉
November 2nd, 2015 at 18:11ok huh so we got the 3rd and final date (it seems)… now on to the the big news on 4th. all three dates release tix on 6th. id rather hit germany its in the open and its gonna be summer. i do remain puzzled as to why they didnt execute this a bit better wouldve been great….alas mr b ways
November 2nd, 2015 at 18:38It took all day to get on the web page buy tickets section but managed to at about 4am Germany time and got three tickets. I’m flying in from the USA and would not miss catching Ritchie one last time. I was 8 years old, not interested in rock at all, when I heard Lazy on Made in Japan and I literally had an epiphany. Hell yeah! Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow wil be epic I’m sure.
