Sex, drugs, and… something…
Ian Gillan was interviewed by German radio SWR1. This being radio, the interview is overdubbed, which makes for extremely frustrated listening because it sounds like was an interesting one.
Thanks to Yvonne for the info.
A funny moment occurs near the end when the interviewer ask about Ians “two children” Ian corrects him and tells him “you read too much wikipedia” (wikipedia actually states as of now that Ian has two children and three grandchildren all of whom were raised in scotland), which throws the interviewer so far off that even in a follow up question he asks him about “his kids” which gives Ian a chuckle.
Another interesting part is about royalities, where Ian mentions a financial dispute and a lawsuit that has been going on “with someone” for over ten years now on over who gets what and that nobody knows where all the money goes that the band makes, quite impressive for an off hand remark.

Interesting questions, more interesting answers!
This one should be undertitled for the non german-speaking listeners.
But again, very enjoyable 30+ minutes!
Have a nice Day!

April 21st, 2015 at 12:34Very interesting and entertaining interview. Though I’m German and understand the translation I agree it is very disturbing to have two people talking at the same time. No matter what language it is. If it was on radio as well as on TV it’s difficult with subtitles but I prefer to listen to Ian Gillan without a translater, even if I do not understand every word he says. Apart of the “children” the interview was very well done. Quite different to the usual questions and in return a lot more from Ian.
