California Breed add European dates (and a drummer)
California Breed has announced more European tour dates in November. It appears that on the continent they will be headlining the shows. Full details in our calendar.
News also came out that Joey Castillo (Queens of the Stone Age) will be playing drums on all upcoming dates as “it became clear that Jason Bonham’s professional commitments would prevent him from being able to tour with the group”.
Thanks to Daniel Bengtsson and Blabbermouth for the info.
Glenn needs to get some sun.

August 2nd, 2014 at 19:46This is nonsense!
August 2nd, 2014 at 20:08They have told us that BBC dissolved because Joe´s commitments as a solo artist and now Jason Bonham can´t tour????
I love European dates. Figs too
August 2nd, 2014 at 20:45No word one way or the other if Jason is out totally or only for these live dates.
August 2nd, 2014 at 22:38I read about this a few days ago! It does make you wonder how a band cannot schedule it’s concert dates, to fit in with each members ‘other commitments’? Bonham is a busy guy no doubt, but isn’t this a ‘new’ band, ready to roll? Call me a cynic & I hope I am wrong, but this scenario is starting to resemble another band from the not too distant past! Still, at least they have another drummer & hopefully for anyone interested in attending their performances, the show will go on! Cheers.
August 3rd, 2014 at 00:16what happened to Jason ?! Isn’t the same problem that prevented Joe Banamassa !t tour with the band ?! trouble already with the new band?
August 3rd, 2014 at 04:36… and another Hughes “project” looks like biting the dust. DP, the Sabs, Hughes Thrall. HTP, BCC … the list is endless & what or who is common denominator?
August 3rd, 2014 at 11:49Is it a case of yet another musician having had enough of Glenn?
August 3rd, 2014 at 16:08Assumption is the mother of all fuck-ups.
August 3rd, 2014 at 21:18It seems California Breed were waiting on Jason to finish his tour with Heart and then were waiting for him to finish his tour with Sammy Hagar. In the meantime Glenn & his management set up a tour supporting Alter Bridge in the US and Slash in Europe and also headlining shows in Europe/Russia. Remember this is a new band building a reputation, not a Lear-jet flying arrived band. Jason apparently didn’t get the money he expected and at the same time Phil Collins asked him to be his drummer as Collins is rehearsing to see if he still has the ‘mojo’ for a comeback tour. Now Phil is offering top dollar and a Lear jet apparently….so yes reason enough to leave YOUR OWN BAND…..Bonham says he didn’t want to be ‘bullied’ into touring (same argument Bonamassa used). This tells me that Glenn WANTS to tour, but BonaBonhammassa just do not want to do all the groundwork for BCC or CB…..as they have more lucrative stuff lined up. I saw CB with Bonham in NYC and will buy a ticket to see them supporting Alter Bridge in Worcester , MA I’ll post a note , but expect it’ll be awesome anyway. http://rockguitardaily.blogspot.com/2014/08/calfornia-breed-bonham-out-joey.html

it looks like Jason is going to be whatever he is:drummer for hire.Let’s stop bashing Glenn for once and let’s hope he continues to make albums and tour with this Andrew. And Jason let him pay the bills with Phil Collins,Heart,Foreigner or UFO.
Hey Andrew say hello to Worcester man, used to live there! bring back some good memories! lol
cheers
August 5th, 2014 at 20:56I wish Glenn well. His projects start with the best of intensions but seem doomed for some reason. I wonder if there is an established band he could just drop into to best utilize his talents and contribute to?
August 6th, 2014 at 02:47Why start up a new band and expect to tour on the back of a debut album and then not play?! Clearly Jason is more interested in money than repsect. He can’t be short of a few quid so why not be creative with a new venture? Surely he would aspire to be more than a session drummer and the son of John Bonham, and make his mark as a creative force with California Breed? I’d be well pissed off if I were Glenn and Andrew! I remember Jason leaving UFO to join Foreigner because they were paying more. No band loyalty then, at all, what a wasted opportunity.
