Good Old Boys on tour
We have a whole bunch of tour dates for The Good Old Boys, the band that features Nick Simper on bass and Pete Parks (of Fandango and Warhorse fame) on guitar. The lineup also includes Alan Barratt singing, Simon Bishop on guitar, and Richard Hudson on drums. They continue to gig quite extensively in local clubs and pubs around London. These dates come directly from the band, and are confirmed to the best of our knowledge. That being said, due to the low key nature of the band it is always a good idea to double check with the venue before heading out.
No new england dates for dp. Booooo

April 20th, 2014 at 01:17Who’s “we?!” 😀
April 20th, 2014 at 03:10That must really be one of the worst bandnames I’ve ever heard!
April 20th, 2014 at 17:24Am I the only one who thinks The Good Old Boys featuring Nick Simpter, is stretching the Purple Family Tree just a bit to far?
April 21st, 2014 at 00:09Buck @6, I really don’t think its a stretch at all. Simper is an original member and played on more studio LP’s that JLT or Tommy Bolin. If “The Good Old Boys” were playing somewhere near me I would go, hoping to hear some new really old MKI songs. Its just that it has been so long ago that he was relevant to the name Deep Purple. I think its kinda cool he’s still “out there” playing music?!
April 22nd, 2014 at 10:37cheers
btw @5 a new band name wouldn’t be a bad idea………………..
Warhorse was damn great band.Frank Wilson was one of the best hammond player around,Ashley Holt a furious screamer and Mac Poole a highly rated drummer.Did you know that Peter Parks ‘s solo spot on “Back in time” had a big influence on Brian May (listen to Brighton rock)
April 23rd, 2014 at 09:49The Good Old Boys are excellent!!! I’ve seen them several times and can strongly recommend them. They do a cracking version of ‘Hush’ among other things! Get to one of the dates – you seriously will not regret it…
April 23rd, 2014 at 17:38byron@8- I was listening to a Robin Trower interview the other day, 40th Bridge Of Sighs release radio interview from the States & I am sure he was raving about Warhorse, a favourite band from his early days. Yes, Frank Wilson is a mighty Hammond player, someone here mentioned him a little while back, I can’t remember who, a regular poster on this site. I checked them out after I read about them, they certainly do rock! I had never heard of them before, Ashley Holt went on to work with Rick Wakeman I think! Cheers.
April 25th, 2014 at 07:17byron@8- My mistake, in the Robin Trower interview I was talking about, the band he mentioned are named War & the song is Four Cornered Room! Cheers.
