February 27th, 2014 at 10:45none of these appear to feature “the making of machine head – classic albums” which is a brilliant documentary including interviews with all band members, n.b. there are great interviews with ritchie and jon. I have a vhs copy of the tv broadcast of this from 2002 but it would be so good to be able to buy a dvd of it….
February 27th, 2014 at 10:48Dave, I can sell you my copy if you can watch whatever regioncode it has (I’d have to check).
February 27th, 2014 at 10:52Kauf ich – egal was die kostet – diese Sachen sind musikalische Religion!

February 27th, 2014 at 11:00ein absolutes muß für jeden deep purple fan
February 27th, 2014 at 11:13I can’t wait!!! Will pay any amount of money!
February 27th, 2014 at 11:14Either it won’t be afforded, or a second run had better be prepared.
February 27th, 2014 at 11:15yessssssssssssss!
February 27th, 2014 at 12:06There must be some kind of conspiracy going on here! All these expensive Purple related items appearing to tempt us to part with our hard earned cash! As if we haven’t given them enough cash over the decades & now they want more! Sheeesh, I should take some sort of legal action to get compensated in some way, anyway, anyhow, someday soon! I can just see people who know me saying, is that why you sold your house? These Purple people have no compassion, show no empathy! Woe is me! Cheers.
February 27th, 2014 at 12:09mp3 ‘s ?!
I am interested in the booklets first.
The rest is OTP for me, I m afraid.

February 27th, 2014 at 13:01Ahhhhh…why does the big box set not come with the original record remastered????
February 27th, 2014 at 13:13Absolutely Superb!!! A dream come true. The remixing/remastering spread over different releases is quite confusing though. And my greatest question form the single is that DP never played Woman from Tokyo Live in the original MK II live….
February 27th, 2014 at 13:29I don’t like the fact that the DVD will only be available at the 4CD + DVD box set. Most of the fans already have the several other editions available such as the “Live in Japan” 3 CD set or the “Made in Japan” 2 CD set released in the 90s and at this point would like to purchase the DVD only. Not everybody has the money to spend around $70 – $100 (if not more) in a boxset.
February 27th, 2014 at 13:43Dear Friends:
I am the greatest big fans of the band in Chile, and I want to buy the new version Resmaster Album Made In Japan (as reported).
See, as you can purchase the new version of the album.
Thank you.
Greetings from Chile.
February 27th, 2014 at 13:52I’ve been waiting for this for about the last two years, ever since I read that it was a possibility. Never actually thought It would happen to be honest. Looks like they have actually done a proper job too. My orders already with Amazon for the Super Deluxe set. Quite exited about it!
February 27th, 2014 at 13:57and for those who live in Italy, HOW CAN ‘BUY?? I’D BE INTERESTED IN THE VINYL!!
February 27th, 2014 at 14:02I REMEMBER WHEN SPLIT ENZ CAME OUT WITH AN LP OF DIFFERENT COVER PATTERNS.
February 27th, 2014 at 14:53Do we know when the prices will be available?
February 27th, 2014 at 14:59Have the original double LP, brilliant!
February 27th, 2014 at 15:00This looks really cool. Only complaint is the shows are not in complete running order that the encores are separate but I’m sure there was a reason they did it that way. Probably to keep the number disc’s low.
On the 5 disc set, on the DVD what is “Smoke On The Water (Official Clip)”
and does the DVD contain the 8mm footage that was found from the 17th of august.
February 27th, 2014 at 15:05Hello I wanted news on all the material relating to the “Made in Japan ‘2014 formats rundown”
February 27th, 2014 at 15:42I’m a fan of Deep Purple and administrator unofficial site about the legendary “Deep Purple.
I would like to know how and where to buy this wonderful edition.
Of course, the whole lot.
Thank you very much
Anthony Clement “House of Vinyl Rome”

How many times do they think we’ll buy the same thing?
February 27th, 2014 at 16:22not again! I’ll certainly be giving this a miss
February 27th, 2014 at 16:54Pre-ordered…
February 27th, 2014 at 16:58Hi
There can be no doubt about what a magnificent album Made in Japan trully is; but do we really need continuous reissues and remixes.
I’m with Blackmore leave well alone; Deep Purple albums stand the test of time and examples of what we will sadly never see the like of again.
Thanx for the memories; I dont need any conformation of what a outstanding experience listening to Purple albums is.
regards
Kenn
February 27th, 2014 at 17:36Wow, a lot of questions here. It looks like the ‘memorabilia’ includes a copy of the tour program yes?
February 27th, 2014 at 17:50The DVD: “The Revolution” segment and ‘Smoke’ from Hofstra 73 is already on the new ‘DP Copenhagen/Hofstra ’72/73 DVD i bought a few months back, so nothing new here.
‘Smoke On the Water (Official clip)’ What is this?
I certainly hope that the unseen B&W Footage is included in the documentary: “Made in Japan – The Rise of Deep Purple MK II documentary”. If the Japan ’72 footage is not included then this set is a waste of time! That is what i personally have been waiting for (as well as the Osaka 1973 footage).
Any news what happened to the the 8mm film from Tokyo??? Doesn’t seem to be on the DVD…
February 27th, 2014 at 19:13Correct me if I am wrong please.
a. In order to get the whole tour REMASTERED (every night, plus all encores), I will have to buy the “4CD+DVD” version.
b. The only REMIXED stuff is the Osaka the 16th. Correct?
c. The mix/master (of Osaka the 16th) in the 2CD edition also means REMIX. Correct?
d. If “b” and “c” are correct, I will have to additionally buy the “Blue Ray” edition or the “2CD” edition.
So it looks like in order to get everything (music wise) one needs to get “4CD+DVD” and “Blue Ray” or “2CD.” Everything else is just variations of this. Is that so or did I miss something?
February 27th, 2014 at 19:16Much as I love Purple, and, indeed this album, how many more times will I be asked to buy yet another variant?
February 27th, 2014 at 19:59Is the details for the Blu-ray Audio correct?
February 27th, 2014 at 20:12That barcode number 0602537719365 comes up as a DVD-Audio on amazon.co.uk???
I want the Blu-ray Audio edition but it is not showing on amazon at all.
Are they having a laugh! surely one cd is more than enough…someone somewhere knows how to milk it
February 27th, 2014 at 21:37OK,
February 27th, 2014 at 21:57just went through my collection.
At home I have:
1. the original “Made in Japan” in Vinyl AND(!) CD.
2. the 2 CD remastered edition “Made in Japan” and “The Encores”.
3. the 3 CD “Deep Purple Live in Japan”.
What did I miss?!
as good a live album ever absolutely at there peak until Gillian and blackmore ruined it with there huge egos
February 27th, 2014 at 22:03[…] more than four decades ago with the release of their first live album, Made in Japan. This May, a tidal wave of Made in Japan reissues are surging your way, from remasters to expansions to box sets on CD, vinyl and Blu-Ray. […]
February 27th, 2014 at 22:27Too many confusing formats & packages.
February 27th, 2014 at 23:19“Original album remixed & remastered” – what does that mean exactly? Is it the “Made In Japan” running order but actually newly mixed from the 8-track multitrack masters?
Why is the Blu Ray so sparse? Blu Ray has 50gig capacity – more than enough space for 24/96 surround mixes of all three shows with encores plus hi-res transfers of the original stereo Made In Japan mix. Probably still got enough room for the newly discovered 8mm live footage plus the Classic Albums documentary.
Why do the nincompoops in Marketing continually screw these things up?
The Blu-ray Audio looks like a bit of a con, there is plenty of room on the disc to put everything!!!
February 27th, 2014 at 23:57Even the bands entire catalogue would probably fit on the disc as well.
I love your comments “Phew” confused hmmm, i am with you too, where do we start. As we all know it’s an all time classic, if i remember correctly we all would have bought the vinyl version 40 odd years ago, and i guess when cd’s
February 28th, 2014 at 00:14first became available i have no doubt we have a version on that format, then in 1993 or thereabouts “Live In Japan” a 3cd box set which is included in the new edition. Even better to my surprise i bought a 25th anniversary edition of the album with the 3 live extra tracks and also included are 6 studio tracks, what a buy!!! Unfortunately
the booklet is in Spanish!! Now do you think i can read Spanish? I think not! We all in the end have to make a decision do we “repeat” or is everyone happy with what they already have? I can’t speak for all the fans on this webpage but i personally can’t wait!
The 20 min of 8mm film are said to be in the documentary section.
February 28th, 2014 at 00:57What the hell? 122 Euro on Amazon germany?????
February 28th, 2014 at 02:00@ 10 Mc Gregor
you are right dude it never ends! lol milking and milking it !
February 28th, 2014 at 03:06I want know price in euros, of course, about vinyl, I am interested to receive it
February 28th, 2014 at 04:55I live in Portugal, and want also know if is posible to have it
all prices are interested ones, of course
I don’t see what everyone’s problem is. This the first time all 3 Japanese shows are available in there entirety in 1 collection. The 3-CD set from 1993 is not complete and the 1998 CD is just a remaster of the original album with a couple of encores. Now we have this one and All I can say is it`s about time. All you people can say is been there done that. Yes I agree releasing Denmark 72 over and over is a little much but this is Made In Japan. We finally have all 3 shows that make up the greatest live album ever. No one`s forcing you to buy it.
The only concern I have with this is what is the mix like. Is it true to the sound of the original album or is it completely different. Personally I would of like to see Roger handle this project or Martin Birch because they were there during the recording and the original mixing.
And as I asked before, is the 8mm footage from Tokyo on the DVD. If not. Why the hell wouldn`t they include it.
February 28th, 2014 at 06:06It will cost $100.00 to get the good version in America…guess I better start saving up!
February 28th, 2014 at 10:31Roger said they were making a documentary about 72/73 and Made in Japan, is this the docmentary in this package ?
February 28th, 2014 at 13:24As much as I agree with most of the comments regarding squeezing the money out of us dedicated fans, releasing the same old stuff over and over again, must admit that i will go for 9 LP set, despite the fact I already have:
February 28th, 2014 at 13:48– 1st UK 2 LPset
– japanese Live in Japan 2 LPset
– 2CD 25th Anniversary spanish remaster
– 25th Anniversary 2 LPset
– Live in Japan 3 CDset ….
I don’t care for CDs, blu-rays, DVDS etc I AM A VINYL JUNKIE !
My wife would say I am crazy, but still wants me go go for it 🙂 !
wow- they should offer the 4 cds + 1 dvd package as singular download!
February 28th, 2014 at 17:32EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED! I thought that each show would be on 2 cd’s. I won’t be buying because I already have the3 disc 21st Anniversary set and the Made in Japan remastered edition.
February 28th, 2014 at 23:49The Blu-ray Audio is now pictured on amazon.co.uk, they have just listed it incorrectly as DVD Audio.
March 1st, 2014 at 02:41Just paste barcode 0602537719365 into their search box to go directly to the page listing.
The cover for it shows it will be the High Fidelity Pure Audio Blu-ray Disc.
I have several of these and there should be multiple formats to choose from on the disc, DTS, True HD, PCM.
On my system I usually find that the PCM tracks offers the better sound, the low end (bass) sounds better to my ears, but we will have to wait and see what Made In Japan turns out like, so hope they have done a good job on the sound.
I have to say this is a bit confusing…..
The description for the 2CD version says it’s Osaka on the 15th/16th, and Tokyo on the 17th. However if you look at the image of Disc One on Amazon, it states that it’s just Osaka on the 16th, therefore not the original MIJ album. Is the description correct, or the image of the disc? Has only Osaka on the 16th been remixed as well as remastered?
If that’s the case, I’m only interested in whether the 2013 remaster (1 CD version) is much different to the 1998 one.
March 1st, 2014 at 09:38@ 39 (myself): I did it, just pre-ordered the 4 CD + DVD box set at Amazon Germany!
@ 46 purpledaniel: How do you come up with 122 Euros on Amazon Germany?! I pre-ordered it for 87,56 Euros.
The 9 LP box set is 112,94 Euros.
Purple Greetings,
March 1st, 2014 at 14:44Lutz
Didnt the Spanish edition contain extra studiotracks like When a blind man cries and Pictures of home ? 🙂
March 1st, 2014 at 15:18big dissapointment.
March 1st, 2014 at 19:25I was expecting the 3 shows remixed. Remastering, (you can do it at home, more or less same results) doen not add anything new.
I would pay good euros for something new…
I really don’t know if this album could sound any better than it already does? It sounds great & while I am always keen to test my hi-fi ear, some albums just sound really good from their first ‘pressing’! If it was mixed into 5:1 surround, it would be interesting to hear, also the higher resolution ‘stereo’ mix. To my ear most rock music sounds better in stereo, there are some exceptions of course, but I think this album will always sound good anyway! Cheers.
March 1st, 2014 at 21:11I wonder if anyone ever tracked down the 5 picture negatives that came with the original japanese release.
March 2nd, 2014 at 00:47I am curious if the pics were ever published anywhere?
I’m going to get it when it comes out. But I have an idea for those of you that don’t want to get it. You can do what I did. I assembled each of the 3 shows in running order using the original album, the 3CD set, the 1998 remaster, and Black Night from the second night I found on the net.
March 2nd, 2014 at 04:47How much remixing can you do on a live album? This seems to be the box set world’s version of “everything loader than everything else”!!!!
March 2nd, 2014 at 23:21@61
March 3rd, 2014 at 01:01Clay, I was just thinking earlier today (before i saw your post) about getting out my Jap ‘Live in Japan’ mini LP Cd out and developing the negative that came with it. I was not aware that there are 5 different negatives!
I’m waiting for the Hi-Def, Super Digital Audio 8-track tape version. It should come in a 12 tape set, with original 8-track packaging and a Made in Japan matchbook cover to slide under the corner of the tapes to make them play correctly.
March 3rd, 2014 at 03:28As noted at (22), already ordered the Deluxe CD set from Amazon, but looking at it a couple of days ago there I noticed: It was 47 (now 104) in Amazons Top Music list, and No.1 in the Rock/Metal section. This is a 42 year old album! Doesn’t say a lot for all the stuff currently being produced does it?!
March 3rd, 2014 at 09:41Don’t like it, would like to hear the whole concert on 1 cd album. Not have to reach out to a seperate one to hear the encore’s. Would be hard in the car, would have prefered a release from 1973. Not one show has been released, the final show with this line up would have been good? Plus Ritchies solos go on for to long , it’s get boring , prefer to hear the studio albums. The original Made In Japan is ok, gives a good representation of the time of the band , don’t need any more material.
March 3rd, 2014 at 13:55EH !
March 3rd, 2014 at 16:14metaljim @65:
You and me both. That would be PURFECT. Especially since I have a working 8-Track player/recorder. I could dupe it to blank tapes and share. Quad would be the Bomb!!!! Anybody else in on this????

March 3rd, 2014 at 23:17@ 57,
The Price on amazon germany last week was 122 euro. Today is 102.
March 4th, 2014 at 15:39I don’t know which post is funnier!…#65 or #67..LOL Solos go on too long?!
March 4th, 2014 at 17:14@ 70 purpledaniel,
amazon.de 122 Euro last week, I can’t tell. 102 Euro this week, I agree. But what confuses me most, is when I preordered the 4CD + DVD box set last Saturday, 01 March, the price was 87,56 Euro. I’ve also got this price on the confirmation email sent by amazon.
March 5th, 2014 at 15:29As I said: I am cofused. A weekend price-typo?!
I don’t know, but anyway, the box set is ordered for 87,56.
rip off.Don’t need vinyl cause I ain’t got a turntable
March 6th, 2014 at 20:02DVD, and then the Blu-ray Audio do it for me. So you have to get more in order to get the DVD, can’t have everything the way we want it. But, the Blu-ray whining about the capacity is ridiculous, it is an item worth standing on its own, and to mix it with video does take other formatting, for which the players caused a problem for in DVD Audio format, deleting the format altogether. It is what it is, and not a con at all. (if it’s showing up DVD-A at Amazon, it is Amazon who needs to change that from the defunct format, likely believing that’s what it is until brought to their attention, like I have to often tell them with my artists)
March 7th, 2014 at 10:18@65 lmao! 😀
March 7th, 2014 at 10:19What a mess, every Deep Purple fan worth his salt, like me, has already got the original vinyl album, the original single CD, the remastered double CD, and the triple CD ‘Live in Japan. So, all that’s missing are 3 of the encore tracks, and what we want the most, the DVD footage. The Blu-ray is audio only, why in hell didn’t they put the DVD footage on the Blu-ray, isn’t there any body at the record company with enough brains to think of that, they would have increased sales of the Blu-ray ten fold, and like someone else said, there’s plenty of room on the disc to fit loads more on, and make it worth buying. Bad marketing by office clones that don’t understand rock fans, again. Mad Purple fan for 43 years.
March 9th, 2014 at 02:46money making crap!
March 10th, 2014 at 07:55how many remastered editions which the record company had re-released in the past years?
they should release Purple last show LIVERPOOL 1976
Those are not “12″ EP” but one sided LP, if it’s 12″ and 33RPM it’s an LP, not EP, EP is different vinyl format.
March 10th, 2014 at 16:43Blue Ray Audio disc contains the remix not of the 16th Osaka, but the remix of the original album, the same as on the 2CD version.

If you take a look at the image of the disc on the Amazon website, Disc One of the 2CD version is shown to be just Osaka on the 16th, not a remix of the original album.
March 11th, 2014 at 12:33How many more times??? I have got first CD press since 1990 with orginal gold cover and I am not goning to buy or do something else with those new versions. There was magic and mystery on orginal edit. Stop ruin this magic!!!
March 12th, 2014 at 17:22The advertising above states that the 4CD + DVD box set is just £ 59.88 on Amazon when it is now in fact advertised at a WHOPPING £84.99 !!!!! Someone is having a laugh ! :0(
April 30th, 2014 at 22:21Hello
May 15th, 2014 at 09:20got the vinyl version just
Downloadcode is incorrect
More than half of the titles are missing
– ::) Frank
This is all about cash, no love for the music.
May 16th, 2014 at 08:27How difficult must it be to put the encores together with the shows in the correct running order?
Why not mixing the music in 5.1 on blue ray.
Just like the 3 cd version, which lacks the best Smoke on the Water version and including just two encores: great music but not done in the proper way.
Just received the vinyl box set.No HD download included just mp3.Noisy vinyl, no polylined inner sleeves so all albums have paper marks.
May 20th, 2014 at 06:38Got the Blu Ray version.
I’ve entered the supplied code for the Digital Download …. and there is nothing there to download.
Oh dear !
May 20th, 2014 at 20:23Sounds like a poor effort. People have posted that the 60 page book is worthless too. What is wrong with record companies?! Us long time fans should be consulted for input before crap is released!
May 21st, 2014 at 05:24Folks, blu ray audio is a different format. I have about 10 of these now. The recordings on blu ray audio are amazing. They r not a ripoff. Also this blu ray contains 2 versions of original recording. One is newly remixed and other is remastered version. They r usually around 20$ and normally contain a 2.0 PCM and often a 5.1 mix. Not sure about this title. If u have a good system or a good headphone/amp combo. Then I would order the blu ray to get the benefits. That’s what I will be doing. Anyone who says this a dumb is because they did not research the format properly. The best format is still SACD. I USE AN ORIGINAL PS3 to play them as it has sacd capability. Enjoy everyone!
May 24th, 2014 at 15:04I purchased the 2CD deluxe version, the original album remixed. I actually like it. There are some differences to the original but there’s an overall clarity probably due to the digital mix, which makes it very worthwhile. Instruments are much more defined, especially the bass sounds phenomenal. I think it is convenient to have all the encores together on the second disc. The 3CD Live in Japan I will keep with this new set.
May 27th, 2014 at 19:19ONE HUGE CAVEAT WITH THE SUPER DELUXE EDITION: It does not come with the download card for 1972 remaster and 2013 remixes as advertised on the super deluxe website, the sticker on the outside of the set, printed on back of the set and in the book inside. Apparently on Europe is supposed to get the download card and USA’s not. So in USA we all got box sets with false advertising and promise and the record company WEA said they’re not going to make it right. The additional dowloads was one of the selling points of this box. Nice, is all I’ve got to say.
May 28th, 2014 at 11:58To Diesel Cadillac (Post 90):
Please look at your box and see if you have the following: The back of the box doesn’t mention anything about digital downloads. However, you can peal away the entire back of the box (which is attached by small glue dots on the corners) and underneath there is another, real back of the box, which mentions digital files (but not how to get them) and, additionally, it has all songs listed on a large black sticker above the photo.
I’d like to post photos of all this mess, but not sure whether it is possible here.

May 28th, 2014 at 16:12Hi Diesel,
I got the 5 disc box yesterday. No Download card either. Contacted Amazon (this company is great) and they give 3 options: 1) Send it back for refund (they pay postage this way and for an exchange)
2) Send back for exchange (which will probably not have a DL card either)… or, 3) They will credit 30% off of C Card.
Can’t ask for more than that! One other issue is that the US version has a re-printed back cover that peels off easily! I believe they were correcting the misspelled ‘Somoke” on the Water reported by our European collectors. Amazon should be praised for their customer service!!!
To add to my previous post. I just got off the phone with Amazon (in the US). They said that since digital downloads are not advertised on Amazon.com, then the only way to get them – is to return the “US version” and order the whole damn thing again from Amazon.co.uk…, which will be over $20 more just for the box, plus shipping from Europe on top of that.
May 28th, 2014 at 16:20Hey Scott W and FoxbatF. I’ve listened two the whole super deluxe edition, wound up returning it and getting the original 1972 remaster single disc and the 2013 remixed deluxe edition. I can tell you this, the 2013 deluxe edition sounds the same as the super deluxe box. The tracks are same as the 1972 remaster but remixed. I actually like the sound of the 1972 remaster better as they knew what they were doing when they originally mixed the album. The remixes sound a little harsh on the vocals and Gillan’s reverb sounds like its from a different room than the rest of the band. The box set does have a better sound flow than the deluxe remix set does and I’d recommend owning the super deluxe box and buying the 72 remaster as well and forget about the 2 disc remix set.
May 28th, 2014 at 21:46Not much has been said about the DVD documentary yet.
May 29th, 2014 at 13:29Can anyone shed any light.
Are the interviews NEW interviews with the band members, filmed especially, or just library footage?
How long is the DVD?
@95 and overall….
I just received my S.D. set the day before yesterday and a few comments even though I haven’t listened to it all.
Audio: While having a few pints I Listened to Disc 1 and the encores. First through the speakers but around Child I decided not to disturb the neighbors anymore and listened through some “decent” but not awsome headphones yet I was still blown away. As I have not listened to the rest yet I cannot compare it to the 3 disc or the remaster but I have no reason to think that I will be dissapointed. (Disclaimer, after getting the Pink Floyd Discovery Box Set and reading about what people had to say about all of the great improvements in the sound and what one could hear I found out that I must need a better system, or people hear what they want to hear)
Book: ( It is not in front of me so this is a hazy recolection per the pints) Like most books in sets of this nature that I am aware of, it is large in size but small on actual text or info for its size in my opinion. I was reading it as listening and it is entertaining with a lot of allocades from other musicians in addition to the story that we all know. It does have a page from the gent that did the remixing which was very informative, I only wish he had done 2-3 pages and gone into more detail about some things that he mentioned, but it does a good job explaining what he went through an why he did some things like switching the guitar to the right channel and organ to left as you would view it in concert. Could have been half of its size and still had everything.
DVD: About 1-1/2 hours. The main documentary is kind of fun to watch and has a couple of things that I did not know (Ritchie’s original idea for the Smoke intro for example). Newer interviews that I have never seen along with some older. The b-w footage of the show is cool and synced to the audio and it was great to see I.G.s reaction to Ritchie messing up the intro to Smoke and not just hearing it. It seems that they show clips and photos from things that are out of order or not directly related to where the story is (they do not credit where or when they come from), but I could be mistaken. A lot of the quotes by other people in the book came from the same interviews used in the book so a little deja-vu depending on what order you watch/read. When watching the other things on the disc afterwards quite a bit of it is used in the main doc so not a lot of new, the most being an interview where the back and forth is a bit of a head scratcher. The Smoke “video” is no big deal and the live Smoke is from the In Concert footage previously released.
Extras: The program is kind of cool but you better know someone that reads japanese. Have not (and may never) played the 45 yet but boy is it a thick and heavy disc. The press release is no big deal. The family tree really let me down as it appears to be the same as the one that I got years back in what I believe was a 12″ single from Perfect Strangers w/Son of Alerik b/w. Iwas hoping for something complete up to the current lineup, I don’t care how big it would have been, I need a new poster!
That’s it, I have to get back to work but overall a thumbs up if you can afford it in my opinion.
June 1st, 2014 at 18:05I received my 9 LP box version of Made In Japan some days ago. Only thing I will say : it sounds amazing ! Perfect audiophile pressing, fantastic full sound, great dynamics ! Congratulations to the people who made this ! No matter how many previuos versions you own, this one is A MUST ! Get rid of the rest as this one is the only one you need !
June 2nd, 2014 at 13:51I ordered my box set from Amazon US. When I complained to them about the missing download card, they offered me; A) a replacement box set upon return of mine, B) a full refund upon return of my box set or C) a 40% refund and I keep my box set. I chose option C, kept my set and did without the HD download. They refunded me almost $33.00 off the price.

June 6th, 2014 at 18:13You did a bit better than i did. I pre ordered and after receiving the box minus DL card, contacted Amazon to inquire about the missing DL card weeks ago. They gave me 30% ($26) refund as i chose to keep the box as well!
To those out there thinking of doing the same: A friend (JB) who tried to get that deal was ONLY offered the option to return the set. I think amazon is done with the refund option now.
Bought the 9-LP box set just the other day. One negative point: Was it too much to include the DVD in this box as well? Cheapskates! The lot!

May 20th, 2015 at 09:16No HD download mentioned on the box of the 4CD+1DVD+one7″45rpm I got from our local library. It’s the Rhino version. The back of the box has a box-size sticker glued to the back of the box and that has no mention of a HD download. No download card. Looks like those are the only differences with the above photographed release. FYI, see it at https://scontent-yyz1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpt1/v/t1.0-9/10649446_10156549831855475_1939514492814189076_n.jpg?oh=af144f7d8aa400cb4ad7cdf4b5a87e67&oe=576F92CE
