Flying Colors 2
Mike Portnoy tweeted yesterday that they have finished writing sessions for the second Flying Colors album:
Wrapped the writing on FC2! Another magical experience indeed…hopefully we can get it out by the end of 2014!
Thanks to Blabbermouth for the info.
Oh man, are you kidding me???? This is great news!!! Still spinning the first disk ‘back to back’ with Now What. They compliment each other perfectly. If FC2 is half as good as the debut, 2014 is shaping up to be a good follow-up to 2013. Hey Steve, don’t burn yourself out writing for FC. Save something for the next Purple album. Then we’d have another fine pair for our ‘back to back’ pleasure.

December 14th, 2013 at 09:25Glad to hear this. While there is nothing at all wrong with their first release, the power and quality really came out via the Live in Europe release. I’m betting that they have gelled more as a working band and this next release will be a killer.
December 14th, 2013 at 19:12I believe Steve M. is setting himself up for life after DP. Let’s hope DP take care of themselves for another great album.
December 15th, 2013 at 11:47This guy Morse in unbelievable. All the time touring, practising, writing, recording. And, he’s flying, too!
December 16th, 2013 at 11:23@4, And one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. I’ve posted a few times before how he truly appreciates the fan base from his first foray into music. Steve, myself and others have closed clubs in which other band members, waiters, waitresses, had long left leaving the owner to have to “throw us out”. Was always interesting if and when another pilot was at a gig and listening to Steve and the other discuss aviation, technical and otherwise. It wasn’t just music, he had time for any and all subjects. A beyond humble guy. To paraphrase, “Every time I take a gallon of milk out of my refrigerator, I remind myself it’s the people who buy the records and come to the shows who afford me my living. I tell my kids that…..”
Peace.

@6 that is nice to hear. You want your heroes and people you admire to actually have a heart and appreciate their fans appreciation. I love the milk story. Glad to hear SM is a solid dude.
