UK Tourdates Announced
An autumn tour has been arranged for the UK, just announced this morning.
The dates in October are as follows:
SATURDAY 12 – 02 APOLLO MANCHESTER
SUNDAY 13 – GLASGOW CLYDE AUDITORIUM
TUESDAY 15 – BIRMINGHAM NIA
WEDNESDAY 16 – LONDON ROUNDHOUSE
Tickets (subject to booking fees) are priced £35.00/ £47.50 advance in London and £35.00 advance elsewhere.
They go on sale at 9am on Friday, March 8 from www.livenation.co.uk.

March 5th, 2013 at 17:06Right @Jim Murphy…i vowed never to return to the Apollo downstairs in their ‘seats’, never felt so cramped in my entire life. The last Purple gig there was standing and had a great atmosphere down the front unlike the MEN Arena Orchestra gig, the audience seemed restrained to say the least.

March 5th, 2013 at 19:23Don’t get me wrong – I am so glad they are playing the UK but it’s really so sad that there are only four dates. Nothing in Wales or the south-west, and mid-week gigs that are tricky to get to if you are working. Now what!?

March 5th, 2013 at 22:25Get your tickets early because the boys are on fire,just saw them in Adelaide and it was purple on top of their game.The sound mix perfect,crystal clear,loud and heavy that great purple sound that no one else can get close to.my biggest surprise after seeing them couple years ago when I thought the end was near with big Ian struggling at times,he is back big time with that unmistakeable powerful vibrato loud and proud in the mix,I was in awe of his performance,the band, all masters of their craft and when they’re chugging along together,pure magic,my favourite drummer of all time showed us why he is so great,flawless,mr.paice you are a bloody ledgend.

The only consolation I have is, that on the 24th April, I will be playing my Electric Lady guitar standing exactly where Steve Morse has stood playing with DP on stage at the Pavillions.
To travel from Devon to Birmingham + accommodation puts this event in the Luxury Department (Land Rovers are thirsty), Unless Ian Paice wants to try one of our Guitars – Then it’s all down to business?????
I know the guys ‘Dish’ Youtube, but sometimes it’s the only way we get to see a Live band LIVE!!!
Why Ian Paice??? well, Steve probably Couldn’t, Wouldn’t & I don’t have the necessary skills to surgically remove his ‘Music Man’ model.

If it’s all seated I will not be happy, but still be present.
March 6th, 2013 at 07:30@Rik, I hate arenas, the last few purple shows at the MEN have been devoid of any atmosphere and I to was at the last Apollo show which was great, was at the 93 show at the NEC in the old standing block A but the sound there is crap, like a echo chamber, why they couldn’t do an outdoor show is beyond me, MK bowl and Knebworth were superb. I blame the promoters, they don’t give a shit about the fans only their pockets!

#4 #5 #6 #7 #9 #10 – I think it’s fair to say DP can’t quite manage to sell out the bigger UK arena venues these days. Despite the reports that they sold out O2 in 2011 that wasn’t the case as they didn’t open the upper tier – so 10,000 attendance rather than 20,000. Given the size of the UK venues I’m a bit surprised they’ve not done a few more dates but in my experience, in the UK at least, additional shows don’t usually “trickle in”. Hence I moved pretty fast to get my tickets today. I missed pre-sale but got them within 2 hours of being open for general sale.
Roundhouse has 1,700 seats and 3,000 standing. Pre-sale tickets sold out yesterday and I wasn’t able to buy any seat tickets so I’m guessing seating is already sold out. My stand tickets were U936-U938 so if the numbers are consecutive an early sell-out of this venue looks on the cards?

Ok – Roundhouse tickets seem to be counting backwards, but are now in the low 100’s. Also, seen this so looks like I was wrong on no “trickle in”
