From the bottom drawer
Roger Glover has posted a new batch of historical photographs and memorabilia from his collection ranging from his childhood to circa mid-late 90s. They feature Episode Six, Down to Earth Rainbow lineup, Gillan/Glover, Purpendicular sessions, and other assorted bits and pieces. Check it out.

February 17th, 2013 at 08:28Well, there are pictures of of almost everybody over there especially of Cozy Powell and IG, but no MIB… Dont tell me Ritchie was camera shy. There are even photos of Coverdale, Graham Bonnet and Don. Guess the battle still rages on….

February 17th, 2013 at 21:51Love the pic’s of Cozy & Lordy. Thanks Roger.
February 19th, 2013 at 11:29No Ritchie Blackmore & no Ian Paice either, from what I observed! Surely he would have other images of classic lineups, but then again, maybe not! Great to see Cozy Powell in many, what a superb drummer & a nice guy also, a huge influence on so many & missed by many more!
February 19th, 2013 at 11:34What´s David Coverdale doing there?
February 19th, 2013 at 20:12Dissing TMIB again….. egos must be fragile!

February 21st, 2013 at 23:50Great Pics!!
February 22nd, 2013 at 02:13Alas, it proves there must be a Super-Injunction preventing anyone from ever imagining that Ritchie once played in the same band as our dear Rog – There I’ve said it now – ah well, see you in court!
Why Did Jon Lord carry someone called ‘Leslie’ around in a flightcase?
I onced worked with the guy who is credited as Paicey’s Drum technician on Last Concert in Japan – he used to hang with Cozy on occasions & had several tales of Woe to relate about Cozy’s High Speed cornering not quite matching the Geometry or Topography of the Road – or in one case the ‘Round-about’. I don’t believe in ‘Super-Groups’ formed of Dead Rock stars in the Spirit realm, but there is something about Thunder that reminds me of those Double Kick drums!!!
Guess Big Ian must have gone through Roger’s Bottom drawer before… hehehheheh!!!
February 22nd, 2013 at 03:44I tried to copy them on my pc and later on I found nothing.
Copyrighted?
February 22nd, 2013 at 15:11@15: Of course they are copyrighted. Everything is. They are available for you to look at on his site. Why would you want to download them!
February 22nd, 2013 at 23:54I want to send some, not a link to a friend.
Why ofcourse? Not everything is. Where do you get that experience?
I share selfmade pics of concerts as well.
I dont ask money.
Roger is a good photographer and I think he has closets full of , for us, interesting stuff of DP, Rainbow and so on.
Would be nice if he could muster the enthusiasm to release of photobook, maybe?
They should implement a chip in those books that detonate if one tries to look in them before partying with some dosh, hahaha
Btw, I m not saying I m a photographer, although I originally had the wish to become one.
February 23rd, 2013 at 11:54Should I ask money? Maybe just a pic or 2 as a teaser? : )
I quote: “Copyright is a legal concept, enacted by most governments, giving the creator of an original work exclusive rights to it”. This applies to everything everyone does. Famous or not famous.
Roger has taken the pictures. He has put them up on his site for everyone to look at. The he and his webguy apparently decided that they don’t want to allow people to download the pictures. You might want to just send them to a friend (who can’t browse the web himself?) but there might be other people who want to print the pics to sell them, do some weird things with them or whatever.
And as for people wondering about why there are no pics of RB; I don’t think there is a conspiracy involved. I just think that seeing how RB and his manager react to certain things DP related (reissues, remixes and general acknowledge of his time in the band), I wouldn’t post private pictures of Ritchie on the net either, if I had any.
February 23rd, 2013 at 12:22I don’t know, Priest, but it’s a healthy subject. You cannot print ANYTHING from my website, nor can I even print the pages out. Should I have it any other way…. NO!
@Svante, all true but it was written after Blackmore sued Purple one of the times, that they’re not to use his image and likeness without his expressed permission in writing before doing so. This isn’t just something the others respect, it’s ordered. Now, he had this done, and then they turned around and pulled the Machine Head shirts and blanked Ritchie’s face out, and these are the facts…. he then gets together with Tony Edwards and others and shouts “blasphemy,” yet it was done by Bruce, the one with the Harvard degree, simply because had they not done this, Ritchie could’ve instantly sued them for having his image and likeness on shits they were selling. Technically Ritchie could’ve sued if they left them as is and sold them, whether or not he’d consider that good for suing, better safe than sorry. Was Bruce and the band just being difficult? I don’t think so, I think they were being smart enough to protect themselves. Personally I wouldn’t buy one of those shirts because I think it’s nutts, but they did it to protect both parties. I seriously doubt Ritchie would be so sensitive to do the same, but who knows. It does take a brain or two to figure out though. I think they showed him they weren’t ging to drop that ball. I can see why the sensitivity, and right, it’s no conspiracy. But the whole insistance this is some kind of jab because he didn’t show any pics of Ritchie seems just as bizarre, but the balance is shaky, ha ha. Just recalling the facts.
February 25th, 2013 at 11:35I never implied someone was jabbing at Blackmore.
I was, at that moment, not conscious of the suggested background.
It all sounds dirty to me.
Such a shame.
