Total Abandon on vinyl
Total Abandon will be released on vinyl by Back on Black label some time in September this year. So far, we have not been able to obtain any further details on packaging, bonus tracks (if any), etc.
Thanks to Alex Chornyy for the info.
One of my favourite live albums- ever! The band was really on fire during this tour, and they seemed to have a lot of fun. Just like they’re having today:-) Rest in music, dear Lord, you’ll never be forgotten!!!!!

August 8th, 2012 at 18:35Not going to buy on Vinyl (can’t play vinyl) Just want to point out that it is a great live Deep Purple Album. They went to prove how good they are and they did succeed….
August 9th, 2012 at 18:07I still have all my vinyl and I play it. It’s just fun to turn back the clock now and then.
August 17th, 2012 at 13:16Do yourself a favour and get yourself a turntable! It makes listening to an album an event.
My family was most impressed by my “Live at Montreux 1996” double vinyl LP! And it was great to look and read the big artwork, absorb the sound, chill out, lose yourself, turn the record over and do it again……
There are is a lot of record players around both new and second hand. I would personally go for a used Dual 500 series for reliability and convenience.
Most cartridges nowadays have a really mediocre stylus on them which kills the dynamics but if you can search for an ATS11E and fit it to the Dual you will have a clean and very accurate sound (low surface noise, CD-like [if not better] dynamics and next to no inner groove distortion) for around $100.
Be sure to save up for a tube pre-amp too…
August 19th, 2012 at 09:21I bought this on import VHS. Then on DVD. Then on CD. GREAT to have this on vinyl! One of the best live shows – ever! Cool!
