July 20th, 2012 at 22:45Dear Jon
Here in Brazil your passing was noted by the largest midia television/journals/news sites.
Many of them praised you for your achievements both in Deep Purple and in classical music.
You surely will be very missed here. Not only in Brazil, but all over the world.
Now the Lord will be pleased to be in the Lord presence.
God Bless You.
July 21st, 2012 at 01:22It’s stunning to hear Rick Wakeman and Ritchie Blackmore comment on Jon Lord. No doubt that Jon transcended and reached new grounds with his keen musicianship. It’s wonderful to have people of immense importance and flair like Wakeman and Blackmore share their point of view and bring good memorable thoughts. Jon won fans from all around the globe and the respect of his peers. He did it with the enchantment of music and keyboard ability. God bless him.

July 21st, 2012 at 06:15Great word from Jon Lord admirers, especially from Ritchie.
But on the short sequence, where Jon speaks I would not have realised, that is Jon speaking. His voice is very much slim and fragile. I’m glad to hear that after his death, because I think one can hear that he had no more power in his body.
But I’m thankful that these few word are kept as history.
And yes: also I’m a huge Deep Purple fan and admirer of his work inside the band I hope the media would remember hin not only as Deep Purple hammond player, but also as composer and classical music player. As one of the biggest musicians of the last hundred years.
July 21st, 2012 at 07:52Lovely little tribute and great to hear Ritchie speaking with such affection. These two guys above everyone else have had a huge impact on my life, and I am still trying to come to terms with the fact that sadly one of them is no longer with us.
July 21st, 2012 at 12:01The presentation of Jon’s honorary degree at the University of Leicester is especially poignant given his passing. It will bring a tear to your eye. Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OywSpd2EbPg
