Montreux’2011 on vinyl
The Live at Montreux 2011 is about to be released on vinyl by a small label called Night of the Vinyl Dead. The release will be a limited edition, hand numbered to 500 copies, triple purple glitter vinyl in flip top opening cover and inner sleeves (that’s a lot of bells and whistles). The material will be identical to one previously released on CD through Eagle Records.
Thanks to BraveWords for the info.
Interesting, 500 copies though…. the race ended in 1993, ha ha… it will be nice to glance at if we know anyone who manages a copy before they’re gone.
March 13th, 2012 at 18:34Well, at least they dont to worry about the sales.
It can’t be hard to sell such a number.
March 14th, 2012 at 18:13It should be a good measuring tool to see just how many collectors will bite, between them there should be 500 sharp teeth at least.

March 16th, 2012 at 10:01Should be a lovely item to own, and have good investment value too…..
March 16th, 2012 at 10:08This is the kind of stuff they should do with the next studio album.
March 17th, 2012 at 02:25btw I was surprised by the quality of this album. It is actually very enjoyable!!
The orchestra fills out the sound in really pleasing way, gives the songs some ‘grandeur’ and maturity, and seems to have brought out some impressive performances from the band.
Both Morse and Airey are sounding quite ‘phat’, enough like their predecessors , but still totally in their individual styles, and Glover/Paice are totally ‘in the pocket’…..Gillan is decent but not as good as the rest of the band though……
March 19th, 2012 at 19:26I m never going to buy an album with a lousy singer again, how “great” the rest might be.
Perhaps they can do a job like WHO CARES concerning Gillan’s parts.
March 20th, 2012 at 21:18@7 -agreed 100%
@8 -shut up, you sing horribly yourself, expert! 🙂
March 23rd, 2012 at 07:25Well, to be quite precise…….
My singing has a wide range and I do own a lot of power in the volume.
Can’t read notes but I can come terribly close to what is asked for.
I attended Uriah Heep and Y & T gigs and sang their harmony parts pitch perfect for a long time parrallel to theirs.
People around me were in complete awe, and that s not something I d make up.
My singing varies from out of tune to an extremely good voice alltogether.
I never came round doing something with it.
That’s all.
March 26th, 2012 at 11:01I didn’t know you had it in you, sounds like you might be sure for once… better than nothing. Decent post, PP, unless there is a handful of bull on it. 🙂 Nevertheless it was interesting enough to change a tune over if honestly the case.
April 4th, 2012 at 06:20The last concert I attended whereby the guy next to me had the audacity to sing along with the band got my beer poured over his head. I got a standing ovation from all the others around me that was tired of listening to the selfish prick. Nothing worse than paying big bucks to see and HEAR your favorite band, and some A-Hole in the crowd thinks he actually is something that anybody else wants to hear. That’s what Karaoke Bars are for…..Shame on you PP.
Cheers
April 5th, 2012 at 02:41I know what you mean Tracy and I agree actually.
It is not normal practice to do some singing, but on a few occassions I did……
Sorry, not perfect.
April 12th, 2012 at 21:04Well, I almost was on those moments : )
Btw,…………….
I hate it when beerdrinking morons keep walking back and forth between the bar and the stage because they dont like certain parts(catch my drift?)of the show.
Shame on capitalism, earning some bucks with pumping liquids into the masses instead of raising the bar a bit and closing the bar during the performances.
April 12th, 2012 at 21:14@13 & 14…PP,
Actually, from time to time I have been known to sing along in short spurts at concert events. It’s a natural instinct at times for most whom are in the moment during a song that drives one to do so, I get that. But, when a dude stands up and belts out the whole song or songs at the top of his lungs as though he is the only one in the crowd, that’s when it becomes ‘beer pouring time’. Hating beer drinking morons that get up and walk back and forth is nowhere near apples with apples. I couldn’t care less how many people get up and go to the bar, as long as they ‘aren’t singing aloud’ as they walk by. It’s that ass-hole that stands up in front of the person in front of him, continually raising his fist and singing aloud that interrupts others around him. What difference does it make if somebody gets up and leaves for a piss or a refill? You can at least still see and hear the band as they go by. The guy that only wants to make a spectacle of himself by standing up and ruining everybody else’s enjoyment through his selfish continual ‘spotlight moment’ should instead go to the bar, get a drink and then go to the restroom and sing his ass off through the whole show instead of at his seat where others around him are being compromised. That’s why I always buy 2 beers at a time. One to drink and the other for ‘that guy’.
Cheers
April 13th, 2012 at 16:43The main problem with drinking is that one has to go to the loo as well.
A normal person does not drink all day long, except when he is an alcoholic.
Same with smoking.
Why are some unable to beat the monkey during a few hours in which a special, well I d like to look at it that way, event?
IMHO it is very pityful if someone cant feel right if without the drug for a few hours.
As soon if you need a drink in order to get in the mood or feel a bit calm or whatever, you are pityful, I m sorry.
