Paicey: “We had it quite easy”
K-97 from Edmonton did a rather interesting interview with Ian Paice when the Purps were in town. Ian talks about the changing face of music scene, his experience of working with Paul McCartney, living where he lives and many other things. Around 15 minute mark he talks about Jon Lord, that his treatment is proceeding really well, and he’s hoping to get back to work around April.
Listen to the interview (mp3, 23MB).
Thanks to Nigel Young for the info.
Great interview!
February 29th, 2012 at 10:52Paicey is talking about Ritchie also. “I hope he will make another great r ‘n r album!”
To me it sounded like Paice wanted to be part of that:)
I hope that Jon gets better. Pancreatic cancer… .hit! But if it’s in really, really early stage, hopefully something can be done.
February 29th, 2012 at 10:58As well, I hope that Ritchie do any kind of r’n’r record, I mean Paicey is right, what’s the matter with him.. OK, he’s doing what he likes, and it’s fine, some great tunes came up from it, but why not do, for the sake of rockers that all love him so much, something that he has in his little finger, just for the fun…
Pretty solid interview for the most part. I realize all interviewers have to ask about the making of Smoke on the water but we’ve heard that about a million times now. If I were interviewing Ian Paice I would love to ask him questions about MK1 and if there’s ever a chance at a one off gig of Whitesnake with the line up he was in. Just stuff that no one ever talks about. Where is Rod Evans? Is he still alive? Would he ever jam again with Nic Simper. If Blackmore ever asked him to play a couple of tracks on a record would he do it? Just like 2 guys at a pub having a few and shooting the breeze. Anyway good interview.
February 29th, 2012 at 11:32Glad to hear Lordy is doing better but I was saddened to hear it was Pancreatic Ca. With a Mortality Rate still in the mid 90% range we can all pray that he caught it quick enough. I was hoping it was something more innocuous like Prostatic Ca. which is MUCH more easily treatable with higher success rates. Lets keep the Maestro in our thoughts and hope he beats this demon.
March 1st, 2012 at 11:50Jon Lord is in Israel right now to have a special treatment for his sickness.
We pray for him and hope for the best. Israel loves Jon Lord !!
March 1st, 2012 at 15:27So good to hear it is going well for Jon. These guys always come across so gracious in interviews. This was a great one. As for Ritchie, well,
March 1st, 2012 at 20:15it would be nice wouldn’t it?
@3 Evans is a doctor, but I don’t know if still operating…
March 1st, 2012 at 22:13Well, Jon is in the right place. As close as you can get to the Devine Healer. That is of course if one is ‘Born Again’. I truly hope you are Jon. I hope the positive vibe from Paicey is reality also. Just remember, in the end it’s “Heaven and Hell”. Where are you headed????
Cheers
March 2nd, 2012 at 03:35I’m really glad to hear that Jon is making good progress while being treated in Israel. Pancreatic cancer is horrible, it’s often too late at the time it’s been diagnosed. In most cases both chemotherapy and surgery don’t work out. He must have had a guardian angel that it’s still in an early state and can be cured.
Jon, I wish you all the best! I’m sure that you’ll carry on with your normal life very soon! The end of the road is somewhere else …
God bless,
