Sorry, but an appearance in this show is the worst scenario imaginable. It’s like performing in an old people’s home. It’s lightyears away from serious rock music (if that exists) and actually a good reason to throw away Blackmore CDs. (Well, I won’t…) But it would make me feel ashamed to tell friends I watched this zombie show…

I surprised Priest doesnt like this – afterall he lives in the past!

    @ 3

    Its not new.
They did performances in shows like this before.

I feel like you but hey……what can you do?

On the other hand, it will showcase them to many people that usually dont like/buy classic rock or something like that.

In the past I felt dissappointed by certain DP albums and stayed at home when a gig arose.
Later on I concluded that , not only with DP btw, LIVE SHOWS often gave a completely different approach.
I had trouble with the “product” of HOBL by DP but the shows were great.

    So…….

Maybe, it will lue some into BN s music and later on grow into other stuff by him.
    Step by step.

Finally ending with listening to gems like Stargazer or When A Blind Man cries.

Maybe even with Ted The Mechanic, hahaha

    lure, that is.

Like Blackmore once said : ” You ve got to take the people with you”.

Not starting with, for them, heavy and complicated stuff.

Let them get used to his style of playing, later on they might be hungry for rock : )

    Hey guys.

I´ve just looking the performing of Ritchie and Candy on the german tv show “Fernsehgarten”.

A very interesting guitar he had used:
A 3-color sunburst Fender Stratocaster body with a “Ritchie Blackmore Signature Modell” -neck and Lace Sensor Gold pickups and with little “Mainzel-Maennchen”-sticker.

I think, that is a new designed serie or an individual handbuild modell.
I think he never user a sunburst modell over more than 10 years except on playback tv gigs like “Fernsehgarten” (in 2005) !!!

    *cheers*

I got out of bed espescially for this.
Switched on ZDF and there it was.

Like I expected a strange show of all kinds of different thing thrown together.
A female host racing like fire through the guests.
BN fans looking kinda irritated/bewildered watching other musical outings.
HOW ON EARTH CAN PEOPLE LIKE THIS AND EVEN BUY IT???!!!!

Nice looking ladies again and again but terrible throw away music.
Yep, what makes that BN s music?

11 o Clock in the morning.
I saw them waiting/standing in line for their turn.

It was about 12 30 when they finally played a PLAYBACK version of HIGHLAND.
Clearly not being comfortable with this unusal hour to be awake : )
    Bassplayer absent.

Interesting how a playback can be done with a drummer clearly hitting his drums.

Btw, The SWEET was also the show.
Hardly recognisable due to both old age and changed members they brought a new tune, of which I forgot the title.

For a moment I hoped for Ritchie stepping in as a guest like he did once in the 70 s.
I think that was a tribute to Paul Kossoff of the FREE that just had died.

Well, this was not worth the time but I tried.

What an amazing knowledge and observation !

I only wonder why the wonderful guitar solo of Ritchie was almost cut out completely out of the studio version! Also the very talented bassist was abcent.
Those two facts were disapointing to me.

Although not most important, the decor was in impecable stylish medieval atmmosphere, even including a table with drinking medieval public 🙂

    Cheers 8)

Witty said…we live in the past TOO…
True beauty and value remains…age after age…
What else to say listening Beethoven, Mozart, Dio,…etc.
After all, no present without past 8)

If traditional Purple fans are unhappy, Ritchie seems to be very happy!!
In the late-1980s, he said he thought young hard rock music fans have not intelligence, clearly looked down on former Princess Diana
He never allows for his wife to have an affair with another man.
When his former second German wife Bärbel Hardie had an affair with other men, he got furiously angry and won the divorce suit
When Candice had sex with Richie for the first time in 1989, probably she was still a virgin at 18 years old.
He will live to be almost 90 years old, and Candice promises an unquestioning obedience to him.
Ritchie does not want to support the British Labor Party, but he assumes the air of intellectuals
He always drinks German beer and drives Mercedes-Benz in New York suburbs.
There are more than 2,000 CD of the Renaissance music in his house
    best regard

Surely you are joking. The true definition of a virgin at that, and this day in time is “an ugly 3rd grader”.

    Cheers
