Montreux’2006 on US TV
The 2006 Deep Purple appearance at the Montreux Jazz Festival, released on DVD as We All Came Down to Montreux, has entered rotation on the Direct TV channel 101 Network. It will be on the air tonight, May 23 at 9:00 p.m. EDT and at midnight May 24 EDT. Direct TV repeats their programming frequently, so check your listings for further viewing times. As far as we understand, 101 Network is proprietary and is available only to Direct TV customers.
Thanks to Tracy Heyder for the info.
Understandable from move to promote the current tour.

May 23rd, 2011 at 20:53Great performance by Purple. Morse was amazing. Iam Paice was on fire. Lots of fun to watch again.
May 23rd, 2011 at 21:27Showing Montreux 2006 live, isn’t enough for promoting the upcoming US Tour of Purple, because TicketMaster says that ticket sales are critically low.
for example, look at this one: http://www.livenation.com/event/02004672A3E8732A?crosssite=TM_US:734897:16839
or this one: http://www.livenation.com/event/1C004695E28F6DDB?crosssite=TM_US:734897:229503
Unfortunately I think they’ll have to cancel most of the shows, if they’re not going to play in the nearly empty amphitheaters of course.
May 23rd, 2011 at 23:05Why won’t danish tv show this kind of stuff? 🙁
I agree with both purplepriest1965 and Ron. 🙂
May 24th, 2011 at 08:35This is also in rotation on HD Net which is carried in the US on ATT Uverse.
May 24th, 2011 at 16:45Will ROGER be on the US TOUR with the band???? anyone know???
May 24th, 2011 at 22:19Really great performance from the band @ Montreux. Disc two is my favorite though, a live performance @ the House Of Blues in Atlantic City New Jersey was just fantastic.
May 24th, 2011 at 22:50this has been on hd net for some time now
May 25th, 2011 at 00:00But the 1996 apperance at Montreux festival is even better. That one is totally awesome! On dvd afaik.
May 26th, 2011 at 16:08@10 yes 1996 montreux dvd show is probably one of the best deep purple gig ever…a lot better than the 2006 one…incredible energy by the band and Gillan in wonderful shape…with nec 2002 my favourite dvd!
May 27th, 2011 at 11:54@George – I am having a hard time finding any sales information on the pages you linked. Can you please point out where it says they’re ‘extremely low in sales’ -because I don’t see anything about that. Deep Purple and the US have nothing to do with each other, they were fed up on the tour in 2007, because of the cancellation of the 2006 proper Rapture tour they had planned with Aerosmith. My friends, it’s over for this band in America for touring and they can care less, and so can I. 2004 is likely the last time I will ever see them unless I go to another country AGAIN. I just don’t see them giving a flying flip about it.
@Roberto, the Montreux 96 would be a much better video if they kept the introduction with Claude Nobs on it where he and the band were on stage together. A good copy of the bootleg is worth seeking out for this.

May 30th, 2011 at 22:08About 2 yrs ago I mailed one of the top dogs on the ‘Sky Arts’ channel & asked for this concert to be featured.
Some months later it appeared several times over a few months.
Coincidence? Hmmmmmmm
