April 16th, 2011 at 19:18Good one! I’m watching the show leading up to it now – Duff McKagan is a crispy critter.
April 17th, 2011 at 03:31Saw it and was surprised to see the audience vote for Mk 3 as the preferred line-up over Mk 2. I wonder if it was professional courtesy for Glenn. Either way 2 great line ups and its always good to see DP get exposure!! Loved the nod to Mark 4 as well.
Eddie Trunk, Don Jamieson, and Jim Florentine are all Purple fans anyway!
April 17th, 2011 at 12:55I totally and completely think people were being kind because Glenn was in the studio. Come on now.
It was nice to hear the brief shout-out by Eddie Trunk for Mark IV, CTTB, and Tommy Bolin.
April 18th, 2011 at 00:13Loved the show. BUT was puzzled by Glenn plea to the US fans to go see them on tour “Across America”. 8 Dates for a country of this size? I think he is Geographically Challenged! Also DP not in the HOF??????????? Yes…DUMMIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
April 18th, 2011 at 09:27DP not in HOF. Eddie Trunk has always been pushing for DP in the hall as well as Rush and Kiss. Very silly that neither of those 3 are in.
April 19th, 2011 at 02:24First Jason Bonham, then Coverdale, then Hughes…..
These are the points I have made over the years..
Purple avoids the current areas of exposure. There is absolutely No common sense Reason for Purple not to partake in a show like this.
Their management totally SUCKS ASS!
If I were KING, I’d have them on ever TV spot I could muster. I remember going back stage with the band in 1997 and talking to Bruce Payne (in the ass) and demanding that he and the promoters take advantage of the fact that this band be properly exposed. He agreed and supported my point and in front of me and Roger Glover having a shared ‘Beck’s beer said he totally was committed to promoting this awesome band…….
NOTTTTTTTT!!!!!
As I have advocated for YEARS….Purple’s biggest enemy has been their Management. Can’t wait to see them in Indiana and hopefully attend the Meet and Greet whereby I can express my complete and utter dismay regarding who runs the show….
Cheers
April 19th, 2011 at 23:55+ 5 on What Tracy said on the management. They have a history of either doing nothing, or doing exactly the wrong thing at the wrong time from a promotional standpoint. Watching the New Live and Rare DVD and looking at the lame music videos from the the first 2 reunion LPs. What were they thinking? In particular Call of the Wild. Putting that awful pop/rock effort right as Guns and Roses was exploding. Brilliant.
