Forevermore chart positions
Whitesnake’s Forevermore came out in March and made into Top 50 charts in several countries. The first-week chart positions were as follows:
- Sweden: #6
- Finland: #11
- Czech Republic: #15
- Germany: #16
- Switzerland: #17
- Austria: #27
- Italy: #41
- Netherlands #42
- Poland: #42
- USA: #49
The album sold around 12,000 copies in the US in the first week of it’s release. Which is not an awful lot given the size of that country…
Thanks to Blabbermouth for the info.
12,000 copies sold, and 100,000 downloads from internet money-free 🙂 . There’s no money in CD’s, and I’m glad that DP family did a lot in music’s golden age – end of 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, and partly 90’s. At those days they were motivated by keeping their rights, today it’s impossible.
April 12th, 2011 at 13:1212,000 is 50% more than GTBB in it’s first week (which peaked at No. 62 in US).
Albums don’t sell like they used to – nevertheless I’m looking forward to my pre-ordered copy and suspect it will achieve a higher chart position in UK (though it will be hard to beat the No7 for GTBB).
Also, tickets for UK concert seem to be selling well with Manchester Apollo sold out unless you count a few very expensive tickets on re-seller sites. These days bands produce albums to support tours, not the other way round

April 12th, 2011 at 17:05Well well, now it’s at #3 on the Billboard Hot 200 charts, selling quite well, DC and Company have done themselves proud on this CD, #3 is the best US charting since the 87 CD! Davids doing something right!! Bill
April 13th, 2011 at 15:18The music biz and the classic rock biz ain’t what they used to be. Recently, Gregg Allman’s new solo album sold 36,000 copies in its first week – and hit # 4 in the Billboard charts by doing so. Think about that!
April 14th, 2011 at 00:50Not one of the best Whitesnake albums but one of he BEST albums period! Great collection of tunes from DC & Co. this one is ‘Great to Be Good’. Fresh tracks with enough of the classic ‘snake flavor ~ the feel of Love Hunter with the power of ’87.
April 14th, 2011 at 01:55With downloading, copying on the net, sales of cd’s have been dwindling over a number of years, i have no hesitation buying my “favorites, it may not sell millions but any sale is a good sale, it’s one of their best, and with rock or classic rock, hard rock
April 14th, 2011 at 12:14there will always be a buying public for this type of music, over the next few weeks we will see,
Def Leppard, Black Country Communion 2, a new Van Halen album, so all is well, congrats to “The Snakes”
Bill The Wizzard Pierce: From what I can tell, it hasnt gone into the top ten, neither is it on the billboard, from what I can tell, it went to number 49, and that as it. I do hope it does better though.
April 18th, 2011 at 11:52@1 – I have to toally agree, what a shame it is, the end of popular music as we know it, really.
April 18th, 2011 at 21:38Hello everyone, about the #3 position, I went Google and typed in Whitesnake on the Billboard Hot 200 CD charts, and it had it plain as day. It was debuted in the Heatseeker position of #3 pushing Britney Spears and Adele down one position each, now I don’t know if it stayed for one day there or for just the Debut, but it did say that. Cheers Bill
