Forevermore release details
A press release from the Whitesnake camp says that the new album Forevermore will be released on March 25 in Europe and March 29 in North America via Frontier Records. The album’s release will be anticipated by the digital only release of the first single/videoclip Love Will Set You Free on February 21. In the meanwhile you can listen to the preview track courtesy of Frontier Records.
The limited edition of Forevermore will be released on a “Snake Pack” edition for the first three weeks in England only. This special release — arranged in conjunction with Future Publishing and Classic Rock magazine — will come with a collector’s edition 132-page magazine plus A1 poster and metal pin badge and will feature an exclusive cover art and two bonus live tracks, Slide It In and Cheap An’ Nasty, which will serve as an appetizer for the forthcoming Live At Donington 1990, to be released in the summer 2011.
The album will be also be released on a double gatefold vinyl format, with deluxe special editions to be announced shortly.

January 20th, 2011 at 09:31Hmmmm. From the sound clip it sounds like it will be as interesting as GTBB – which I still haven’t bought yet. I’m waiting for the special limited tour/digi pak version with all the out takes and studio footage and the chocolate flavoured CD. Yum yum.

January 20th, 2011 at 20:01Except for songs here an’ there, I never was much of a “metal” Whitesnake fan, instead preferring the early years. Unfortunately, Whitesnake continues to cater to the ‘hair metal’ sound and identity since it is that incarnation that produced the most record sales.
For Whitesnake, it is a bit of an identity crisis. One cannot blame Coverdale for opting more toward the 1987 sound and continue to carry that theme over in both sound and artwork even if long-time Deep Purple fans are more likely to prefer the Trouble-to-Slide It In era.
As for the clip, it sounds pretty good. I give Coverdale kudos for remaining active by touring, putting out new material and having a eye to the past as well.

These extreme metal-like distorted guitars of Aldrich has nothing or little to do with what Whitesnake actually stands or always stood for. But well, as long as his fans fall for it. The vast majority of Whitesnake fans are anyway elder women between 40-50 …

I know most Deep Purple fans like David’s old sound, but really who’se going to buy that sound today? it might sell in the UK, but worldwise, listen to modern music of today, if you don’t rock, you don’t get played. Whitesnake currently is playing to their strengths, and that is their 2 guitarists and David! Doug and Reb are 2 of the best updated guitarists in the world today. Look, it could be worse, what if Steve Vai was back??? also these boys can actually sing. another thing, I never really understood the Hair Metal nameplate they got stuck with. What do you want Mohawks? Every rocker out there has Hair, (well almost)just because David has hair, you all still butcher him over it! lighten up, and Rock! nuff said
January 29th, 2011 at 16:05I think the last album was a good cross between classic and modern. I prefer the classic but like and appreciate the modern, especially lately, for some reason the so called hair days hold up very well for me, better than at the time, back then I wasn’t into it as much as I had been. Favorite albums have to be Ready ‘An Willing, and Slide It In, as they slid into that period but still had their original bite.
