JLT to guest on That Metal Show
Joe Lynn Turner will join Eddie Trunk, Jim Florentine and Don Jamieson on February 27 at 11pm (Eastern Time) for That Metal Show on a US cable channel VH1 Classic. Trunk says, “Joe was great to have as a guest. We are all friends and fans of his and have wanted him since we started taping the show. His personality and great stories made for a killer episode.”
Once the show debuts on February 27, the episode will repeat a few times more. Check VH1 Classic schedule for details.

Personality and great stories???
February 14th, 2010 at 10:45The guy can be quite hilarious at times, both in a good way and in a not so good way…
February 14th, 2010 at 16:16Is it JLT bashing time again already?
February 14th, 2010 at 22:56Ok, I m ready and geared up….
Let it comin….
I actually like the guy ! He´s got a great voice and certainlly has his place in the hard rock history but……If only he could rely more on his own material, it´s quite fine in my book ! It wouldn´t hurt his cred if the poofy stage manners of his could be left in the closet either, we had Freddie Mercury for that !!! ROCK ON !!!
February 16th, 2010 at 11:43I think the guy has confidence in himself which rubs some the wrong way. JLT has talent and I believe to be a straight shooter. Like him or not, Slaves/Masters rivals any of the post 84′ re-union albums. If I am not mistaken, RB hired JLT at one time because he sounds somewhat like Paul Rogers.
February 16th, 2010 at 15:24Priest, let’s just wait for it: dogs bark, but the
caravan keeps on rolling! Will catch Over the Rainbow
again here in Finland next summer, it’ll be GOOD 🙂
Cheers, be well
February 16th, 2010 at 17:20Joe has a great voice, can sing in time and in tune. Was chosen by Ritchie Blackmore twice, and Yngwie Malmsteen. So whats now to like?
February 16th, 2010 at 23:18@4 & @5 Well put guys, you made some valid points.
Kippis
February 17th, 2010 at 17:16JLT puts his foot in his mouth once in a while (who doesn’t) and comes off as cocky, but lets face he can sing and IMHO, OTR is doing well and mostly with him at the helm.
February 17th, 2010 at 22:19Wish they would come to the US
Hopefully due to the pressure of his past collaboration buddy Glenn Hughes working diligently on a Real Band..”Black Country” and an album of ‘Original Material’, he will buckle under and do a record with OTR. How perfect would that be? Whitesnake, Hughes, and then JLT, all ex-Purple singers flooding us with New Music to listen to….then finally, Purple puts it icing on the cake and releases theirs…..
How is that for Optimism, huh??
Cheers
February 19th, 2010 at 17:22Now also, to sweeten the pot to an even more Monstrous Level, Rod Evens resurrects ‘Captain Beyond’ and fills the final piece to the puzzle.
I know, pie in the sky, but you have to admit……not a bad scenario at all huh?
Cheers
February 19th, 2010 at 17:26@10 @11 Can’t agree with you more, Tracy…
cheers for the optimism, there’s never too much of that around. Keep on rockin’, “old man” 🙂
February 22nd, 2010 at 15:32Missed out again.
March 1st, 2010 at 15:08Is there a relisten section of THIS time available?
Well, I found it.
Its not something of worth.
JLT acts professional but the context in which he gets to say a word or 2 was completely chaotic and rubbish.
It looks like the presenters of the show think a lot of themselves and the whole set up is a tsunami of sound without much substance.
March 6th, 2010 at 00:10Unfortunately a couple of members of “Captain Beyond” have passed away although there have been a couple of reissues and some live material and i must admit i still think Joe has a great voice, he may not be everyone’s cup of tea but i do look forward to his new album in May. Although his music may not be as harder edged he can still rock out with the best of them.
