New tour dates and old ones confirmed

Sao Paulo 2009 by Pedro Abib Cristales 1

A bunch of tourdates that we had listed for a while, as well as a couple of new ones, have just appeared on the official Deep Purple site and as so are now confirmed. That includes

On top of that, there is another unconfirmed new date — July 14 in Portugal — for which tickets are already on sale.

Full details in our calendar. Let us know if there are any additions, corrections, missing ticket info, etc.

Update (Jan 22): Polish promoters MetalMind has announced three dates in Poland: October 28 in Rzeszów (previously incorrectly listed by us as Oct 26), October 30 in Katowice, and October 31 in Wrocław. Tickets for all 3 go on sale on February 1 at 10 am.

Thanks to Jakub Stawiarz for the Polish tour info.

    I’m heading to Yerevan,
this will be my second DP show (first being Istanbul last year) and my second personal meeting with THE MAN himself, IAN GILLAN…

over 300-400 Georgian fans are ready to head to Armenia for the single Purple night, that’s sooooooo cool 🙂

It doesn’t seem to make any sense unless they record a new album which seems less and less probable every day.

Dear George, I think you will be glad to know that before Deep Purple’s concert in Yerevan on May 25, Ian Gillan will perform two shows with the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra on March 26 and 27! Tickets will go for sale next week, so please let me know if Georgian fans are interested.

What the hell do you mean bk ? DP has enough songs to come up with an exciting setlist. Last time I saw them in Amsterdam and Antwerp they allready had a few surprises. So a new album is not neccesarily in my oppinion. It would be nice yes….

The concern is most understood, but they will likely take no longer than 4 to 6 weeks to record an album, and they’re off till sometime in March? Let’s hope they use that time to do what Ian reported on stage during the last leg, and that’s record an album. However, realistically they won’t play a set based on new material till it comes out. But some attending shows might be rewarded with some warm up performances like they did prior to the last four studio releases. Something they never did before Morse joined and touring took up their commonplace. We only live once, and that goes both ways but not everything is always possible.

    Hi Larry

It might be my Alzheimer but I seem to remember they DID do that before.

    I should know exactly but I dont……

But I feel certain that it DID happen before…..

LAZY and Highway Star for example were in the set before releasing Machine Head
Child in Time and Speed King were before IN ROCK was ready and released.

I suppose there are more examples…..

    Gday from Oz

Great news that DP are back in oz. I’ve seen them on a few occasions, especialy when thet did the gig @ Festival Hall back 75 with Tommy. Strange, the return.

One thing I wish I could do is meet Mr Paice. Since when I heard Black Knight back in 70’s, Ian has been my main influnce. Yep he’s the one.

I cannot help but feel slightly disgusted with the American(of which I am one) way of thinking when it comes to music. If it isnt on american idol or fits in with the redundant repetative radio programming thatseems to dictate what we are supposed to like then we seem to ignore it. Where are the promoters who could book Purple for some American dates? Where are those fans whose younger years were made what they were by this and other great bands music? Speaking for myself and I hope some others, Thank you not only to Deep Purple but many other great bands of their class, My life would not be the same without you and you can always count on at least one American who always has and always will appreciate you.
