More European dates confirmed
We have a whole lot of new and confirmed European tour dates. Deep Purple’s itinerary now looks like this: end of August / Early September they play a couple of open air festivals in Switzerland, then Fête de l’Humanité near Paris, followed by arenas in Barcelona and Madrid. Then off until the British dates in November (second gig at Hammersmith has been confirmed as well). After the UK, they are heading to the continent once again, first to Antwerp and Amsterdam, then Scandinavia. The band will round off the year 2009 by playing 6 dates in brand spanking new French arenas (in fact, so spanking new that half of them still feature as construction sites on satellite maps).
Full details in our Purple Calendar. As usual, please mail any additions, corrections and ticket info to the tourdates editor.
Well it looks like another year will come and go with no USA tour dates. What a shock! I guess in there eyes we don’t exist anymore. This really stinks!
March 26th, 2009 at 21:02Yeah no kidding, come back to usa/canada already… I havent had a chance to see the band since 04′ for petes sake…
March 26th, 2009 at 21:30DP is touring Europe because they can drw people thre. Here in the States they can’t unless they are with two or three other bands which then becomes too expensive to tour the US.Also they are packing in the money for thier retirement while they can.Money is the name of the game.
March 27th, 2009 at 01:12I was hoping they’d tour with heaven and hell for their usa tour in the fall/winter
March 27th, 2009 at 07:17Another two gigs in Sweden is always welcome BUT I would have prefered that they had hit the studio first. Gothenburg in july is already in my calender, if I go again in november will depends on who else will be on the bill.
March 27th, 2009 at 07:43’04 was great show and I do hope they come through the states again. It seems as if money was the name of the game, the original members could have already retired, ego does’nt seem to be a drivng force either or they would be doing the two or three band thing playing all the classic stuff. I am a bit bias though.
March 27th, 2009 at 08:10Another French tour!! Becoming more regular than Germany now
March 27th, 2009 at 12:39Yippeyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!
March 27th, 2009 at 13:58wow, they play @ quite big venues this year, 20 000 capacity arena in Barcelona. Are they able to sell 20 000 tickets in Barcelona alone? seems very good…
