Sunstorm — House of Dreams
On April 17 Italian label Frontier Records is releasing the second Sunstorm album called House of Dreams with Joe Lynn Turner on vocals.
The Sunstorm project came to being in 2006 when Turner accepted Frontiers President Serafino Perugino’s concept to “blow the dust off” from songs that Joe wrote for the aborted follow up to his 1985 solo debut Rescue You. This resulted in the first album simply called Sunstorm.
The new album apparently follows the same formula, with some tracks dug up from JLT’s archives and some contributed by other musicians.
Track list and preview:
- Divided
- Don’t Give Up
- The Spirit Inside
- I Found Love
- Say You Will (Jim Peterik)
- Gutters of Gold (Jim Peterik)
- Save a Place in Your Heart (Paul Sabu)
- Forever Now (Paul Sabu)
- Tears on the Pages (Jim Peterik, Jon Lind and Russ Ballard)

(Co-)writing credits appear where appropriate. Brothers Tom and James Martin (House Of Lords, Khymera) wrote the remaining tracks.

how about an OTR and Saxon gig to compliment the Whitesnake and JP gig.
March 19th, 2009 at 18:11JP?
March 19th, 2009 at 21:31He thinks about Judas Priest, unfortunately they will be touring with Whitesnake. That pitiful band is trying to get a reputation of being on tour with legendary Whitesnake. Just like Def Leppard did. Thank godness that Whitesnake is much better than bouth of them
March 19th, 2009 at 22:30Gillan89
Def Leppard trying to tour with Snakes coz snakes are more popular? hahaha 😀
D’you remember that during this whole tour Whitesnake was the kind of supporting act for Defs? Whitesnake opened the show, and then Def Leppard come as the major part of the show…
btw, I read the track-titles:
House of Dreams
Walk On
is the albums track-titling influenced by Purple’s Bananas? :D:D:D
March 19th, 2009 at 23:38George
I dont want to hear you anymore
FIRST visit some show of OTR and DP before you go on rattling
Goodnight
No smileys, I hate smileys
March 20th, 2009 at 00:20I guess you understand why
You said it purplepriest1965
March 20th, 2009 at 02:02Whitesnake was better than Def Leppard in their early days in my opinion. And Coverdale was way way better vocalist than Joe Elliot. But talking about late 80’s music, Def Leppard is one of the best band commercially (well, many hated their overproduced music and weird lyrics) while Whitesnake I think was drastically evolved into glam metal images (fortunately successful even I didn’t like their glam metal songs). And their latest tour, yes, Whitsenake was opening for Def Leppard in all of their 17 shows across England. It’s a fact. What’s to be complained?
March 20th, 2009 at 06:53Well, back to topic.
What I expected is a new Over the Rainbow album. Then I hear this new Joe Turner’s project. Only could hope this album is nice and yes, I miss Turner’s voice. It’s a pleasure to hear he made new music again. I’ll have the album. But, could somebody give a review about the first Sunstorm’s album?
And I’m waiting for another new from Joe Lynn Turner (have I mentioned new OTR album?).
Cheers
March 20th, 2009 at 07:02The first sunstorm album was nothing special.
March 20th, 2009 at 09:34Average 21st album (that they think that’s real Rock).
90% of JLT’s projects are average music, with absolutely nothing valuebel. Very average riff, poor melodics and most of all JLT’s songs are identical. So i’m not expecting nothing better from this second album, i just hope that it wouldn’t get worse
andre sihotang if you like Journey/Foreigner you will hopefully enjoy the cd, very catchy melodic rock, the reviews were excellent, Melodic Rock
March 20th, 2009 at 10:20suggested it was a minor classic, once you go to that site you can listen to 3 or 4 tracks from the
forthcoming “House Of Dreams”. Gillan89 has sugggested it’s an average album, check it out
and see what you think personally. Also go to
Amazon and type in “Sunstorm” and have a listen.
It’s an absolute gem, Can’t wait to get both albums
soon. Excellent, let me know what you think
@ 8 and 9
I can appreciate lots of JLT solo stuff but at the same time I often feel unsatisfied
Why?
It misses a certain factor
The same on One Eye To Morocco……
A lot of talent and passion, good singing, but at the same time ….
It s probably I ve been very spoiled since 1977
But, as said, at the same time I can enjoy some of it anyway
Like a Mac once ina while but nothing beats my own pizza s I ve been told, hehehe
Andre
When and how do you miss JLT s voice?
He s very productive, putting albums out all the time
FOREIGNER and PAUL RODGERS are the cream of the crop if you like music like this, me thinks.
Recently I found some excellent material from them on the Tube, wonderful.
LOU GRAMM, such a shame the agony he has to go through……
A person with probably enough money but still tortured by pain he could not stop?
Btw, I like the production of both OETM and SUNSTORM
The sun is shining, gonna absorb some Vitamins…..
March 20th, 2009 at 12:28#11
I miss his voice, refer for something NEW AND REFRESHING from him. Not many JLT’s records around in my country, only bootlegs from his concerts (what can I expected form those since what he most done there were covers and tributes to his own). His recent song, Love is Life was fairly good. Hope I’ll get my cup of tea on this album and new OTR one.
March 20th, 2009 at 13:29My point was if Whitesnake–a singing band can tour with JP–a screaming/Metal band and it works—why can’t OTR—a singing band—team up with Saxon–a screaming/Metal band. Opposites attract says the experts. So not to confuse the CORN-Fused folks— as people say in the Midwest–a singing band is a band that has a vocalist who can actually sing aka JLT–Paul Rogers–Singer from The Guess Who –Bert Cummings I think…etc
March 20th, 2009 at 14:07Purplepriest1965
D’you really think that I pay ANY attention to whether you like my comments or not? if you think so, then be sure you’re wrong!
March 20th, 2009 at 14:22I post what I think… and concerning to DL and WS Tour, it is FACT that WS was the OPENING/SUPPORTING act, and DL the MAJOR ACT – So, purplepriest, WS being opening act for the MAJOR act Def Leppard, is NOT my opinion, but IT WAS THE FACT!
maybe you can see dofference between opinion and facts…
Yade yade yade yade…….
Yeah, I know you are here for yourself
Perhaps its therapeutic, what the hell do I know…..
I can see difference between fools and fools……
March 20th, 2009 at 16:07purplepriest
so, which of them are you?
March 20th, 2009 at 16:19you’d better see the difference between opinions and facts
To purplepriest
You are giving a voice to my feelings. If George continues like he does the moment is going to come when I quit this site. It’s sad, but it’s hard to stand what he is posting. Any suggestions out there?
March 20th, 2009 at 19:25It d probably be wise to ignore people you dont want?
But I m not wise……unfortunately
George, this one was not about facts and opinions
You are one big opinion without much experience blabbering on and on.
Check your health.
March 20th, 2009 at 19:57Yeah George, your pushing to much in some facts, chill out a little bit
March 20th, 2009 at 20:27@17
“Suggestion?” Some good proper guidence couldn’t hurt, but it’s like trying to tell my daughter anything, she already knows, she’s a year past 17, therefore I know nothing! Really, just like with us all, only time will allow growth of any kind. It’s a long decade between 17 and 27, probably a persons biggest growth opportunity period in life. If things aren’t right by then, we’ll be trying to tell a man to grow up instead of a kid.
March 21st, 2009 at 02:34This new JLT product is nice and professionally produced, but god I am so up to here with this insipid AOR which is churned out all over Europe these days. Joe, think about quality, not quantity. These guys you are working with are uninspired copyists. This music is soooo inoffensive in offends me:-)
March 21st, 2009 at 08:42Exactly……
Priest is the only here ‘experienced’ in the art of blabbering on and on……
You wont take his crown………….thats for sure
March 23rd, 2009 at 14:04# 22
I’m sure it is you wearing the tiara ,and even all over the topics ! 8)
March 23rd, 2009 at 18:47Dont think so…..
But I also dont feel its a contest
You do probably
March 24th, 2009 at 12:23And the prize is??
March 24th, 2009 at 15:18As usual, a kick in the nuts.
March 24th, 2009 at 17:05Thats a frequent happening for you is it?
March 25th, 2009 at 14:47Well, this one took you kinda long, hehehe
March 25th, 2009 at 15:51Is that how you identify a remark? ‘a kick in the nuts’?
March 25th, 2009 at 16:19I guess I deserved that one
Well, I m being instructed right now……
You know who you are
March 25th, 2009 at 16:45Ahhhhhhh, but do you know who you are?
March 25th, 2009 at 17:08Who Do We Think We Are??????
March 25th, 2009 at 18:29You both have got it wrong.
Sleep on it.
Cant wait to read some more witty comments.
March 25th, 2009 at 22:46Oh I get it….he got a voice from TMIT, telling him what to say next……(he discarded the Baby Jesus at just 12 years of age….now he found a much higher power….TMIT).
Wait for it……wait for it…….
March 26th, 2009 at 02:28Discarded the ‘Baby Jesus’??
Ohhhh how could he………You just wait till Judgement Day…….
March 26th, 2009 at 08:58Discarded the baby Jesus?
Oh my God, …..
Pun intended….
WTF…..
What do you smoke?
When I was 24, so that doubles 12, I was asked to pose as Jesu for a french photographer, by then I had very long hair and did not shave that helped appearantly.
And yes, I resembled the popular image…..
But no, I was not invited to plat the role in a new edition of JCS
They still asked Ted Neely I saw last night on the Tube, great stuff
AND HE STILL COULD SCREAM!!!!!!
Man, you cannot escape to compare what his voice became after all those years and what our beloved Big Ian did with his gift.
March 26th, 2009 at 13:25Big Ian use to scream, and Little Blackmore use to play guitar……………..
And JLT……….?? I dunno…..is Sunstorm worth it………..against all the odds………
March 26th, 2009 at 13:46Little JLT grew up with lots of soul and made some great albums later on.
On Rescue You he screamed a lot and very good as well.
I dunno if Sunstorm or any other new release is worthy…..
Personally I do need think everything on JLTs albums are worthy but a lot is…..
March 26th, 2009 at 14:30Personally Ive always struggled with JLT. You know how you take to some, and not to others? Thats how he gets me. I struggle to listen to him and not get a mental picture of his stage persona.
Maybe Im not being fair………but it is how it is.
His Rainbow efforts were always backed by the uniqueness and feel of Blackmore……so I lived with it……….anything else ‘JLT’ and it turns me off!
March 26th, 2009 at 14:59You mentioned THE NAME again……
Oh Dear……
Well, gonna enjoy myself some more with the EXCELLENT YouTubes of Belgium 1993
THE BATTLE RAGES ON!!!!!
March 26th, 2009 at 15:20Has it been banned outright? Or have you just been banned from mentioning THE NAME?
Threats of a Siberian Gulag……..
March 26th, 2009 at 16:04Nobody bans me…..
March 26th, 2009 at 23:51Thats the spirit!
March 27th, 2009 at 11:34@42
Banned?
Maybe not that you know of, and I’m not talking about my forum, as you know… but you have been elsewhere, some time ago in fact, guaranteed.
Not that it matters or anything.
I go no further in public, you know how to contact me. Just stating the fact behind your statement.
March 28th, 2009 at 05:12So much for your repeated claim on ethics
Your message seems to have a vile intention.
Maybe this one on 44 is here because you did not like my reply on another thread here, only yesterday?
Whats also remarkable is the fact you did get irritated when someone, whoever, mingled in a talk you had at that moment here, and NOW and not for the first time as well you do just the same
I was only joking with Rascal
My remark about being banned or not was not the result of a serious conversation.
I was not talking with or to you.
So what prompted you to mingle again this time?
I do not get the last sentence of your post
You know how to contact me as well.
Maybe you could have done THAT before this reply above?
It kinda reminds me of Gillans repeated outings towards RB…
March 28th, 2009 at 14:18Saying he knows lots of bad stuff about him but wont go into that…..
Acting like A GENTLEMAN but in the meantime on purpose damaging RB.
So easily jarred…
Hilarious!
I merely took one thing you said and elaborated on it and then said the rest doesn’t belong here, and you get all worked up.
I was just playing hotbox with Rascal and you were the ball, capiche’?
Lighten up.
March 29th, 2009 at 03:46Another thing… for one small example out of many over the years in the press, going around saying someone can’t sing when in fact they’ve been doing it steadily and professionally since 1965, is as damaging as anything that can be said about Blackmore, so now what?
Count the compliments from them why don’t you????? Oh yeah, thats right, I keep forgetting who I’m taking to. lol!
March 29th, 2009 at 03:51#46
Nice try to avoid your regular tottering ‘expertism’ blabbering suddenly playing hotbox .
Funny, but I know a few ‘facts’ of you on the matter of forums…and of your concoctions to fight certain ‘facts’…the statement’banning’…counts then for nothing…
I stop here, not because I’m a gentleman, but because we are on a public forum , ment to share our love and passion for the music.
Cheers!
