Drum clinic in Moscow
Russian promoters SAV Entertainment have announced that Ian Paice will visit Moscow to perform a drum clinic on February 8, 2009. The clinic will be at the Central House of Artists and tickets will be available via www.kassir.ru.
Thanks to Dmitry Zaretsky for the info.
Ian Paice is the best drummer in this world. Not only about his remarkable technique and skill, but also about personal attitude, professionalism, creativity, still playing well in hard situations (Mk IV live, Mk V live, Whitesnake 79-81), faithful, and this drum clinic will explain it all. He stands above other great drummers.
I also admire Keith Moon, John Bonham, Bill Ward, Steven Adler (Guns Roses), but ‘drunk’ and ‘fly’ are always be their middle name. So Paice is the greatest for me. John Petrucci and Ginger baker come to a close.
Wish I could attend this one.

You listed John Petrucci, the guitarist, in a list of drummers. Did you mean Mike Portnoy by any chance?

What was so difficult during MK 5?
During Whitesnake?
December 8th, 2008 at 01:06Oh, yes Carl, you’re right. Mike Portnoy.
2005, Mike Portnoy did a drum clinic in my town along with one bassist and one guitarist. And he was
so awesome that nobody in that room going out even for a second as the show went on. We were so delighted.
Sure Ian Paice will make it better as he have more creative and complex skills(IMO). But when will he come to my town?
In Whitesnake he got fired (or quit?). It’s not his band I think. MkV? He and Lord did not like Turner musically (CHOHW DVD intrv). Maybe his time during MkV was not so difficult, you’re right. Actually I don’t like S&M.
Cheers…
