Would have really liked to have seen the show, but was tied up with work commitments. Did anyone here go?

    Tracy Heyder says:

What ever happened to Rod Evens? Seems he should get together with Nick Simper and do something…….

Hope someone recorded this event. Had to be great.

    Cheers

**** He is asking about Rod Evans……….

I am posting that question now for ages on the Net……………

    I did NOT go……..
    I should have……..

Yesterday I was wasting time on the beach(Is life about getting a tan?)and saw the ships leaving for England………
The night I got home I received this disturbing(Yep, disturbing the priest, whahahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa)from a friend who lives there.

He went to the show, posed with Nick and Glenn, Hell he even posed himself on Cornwall castle. yes, the BURN/mark 3 fotoshootlocation.

I should have been there, still longhaired and proud…………..

But, no, I hesitated and forgot(…)about going.

So what I m gonna do tomorrow?
Yep, gonna take another stroll on the pier.
Let the salty wind blow through my hair, thinking about my sorrow and my woe, about my stupidity……………

It will deepen my tan, so all is not bad?

    Tracy Heyder says:

Sorry priest…..I didn’t know you had a contract on which questions each of us could ask…….

I’m guilty of bringing up Rod Evans more than once and now I have finally been busted by the “Question Police”.

Time for a Goblet of “something”…….and in tribute to the Convention, I think I will put on some “Captain Beyond”, “Warhorse”, “Rainbow with Doogie”, “DP Banans” and tip the Goblet for the evening.

Let me know my sentence for the charges filed priest.

    Cheers

Last I heard Rod Evans was still working at a hospital somewhere in California.

  6. 6
    Tracy Heyder says:

Think he can cure PRIEST of his “BWS” (Blackmore Worship Sydrome)?

Wow, wouldn’t that be a gas if Rod Evans treated and cured priest of his ailment.

Would be a great day for all here at the Highway Star…….

    Cheers

    ohrlabor says:

    I agree!

  8. 8
    Sami says:

‘BWS’ : naaahh, how about ‘MWS'(Morse Worship Syndrome),
any cure for that evil disease 🙂

Cheers to you all, and remember to give a chance to
Captain Beyond & Warhorse…two GREAT, but criminally
    underrated bands.

    Sami says:

But seriously : kinda ‘strange’ setlist from The Good Old Boys cause after all it’s the 40th anniversary of the Mk I and only Hush from Shades was played…still, hope there’ll be a bootleg doing the rounds real soon, or even better, an official release of the evening. Yup.

  10. 10
    Tracy Heyder says:

No “MWS” here…….but I will concede to having “DPWS”…….LOL.

AFA Capt. Beyond, I couldn’t agree with you more. Mainly the first lp. I wore that album out until paper thin. I got to see them Live in Miami in ’72. Great gig. They and REO Speedwagon (both promoting their first record)opened for Wishbone Ash promoting the Argus record. Incredible show.

    Captain Beyond.

    Live………..

Kill that mother******* or give me a time machine to ease the pain.

  12. 12
    purplepriest1965 says:

Btw, are you sure it’s me and not YOU with a fixation?

It seems to me you suffer from PPF, purplepriestfixation……

If everybody around here would react the way you do, Id do nothing else than responding here….

  13. 13
    Tracy Heyder says:

Don’t flatter yourself priest. As I’ve stated in my responses to your stuff, I also give many views and response to ALL. You do as well. You are very informative and witty as I try to be. It’s just that you have a tendency to follow the same format in all of your entries…….1). Blackmore is better than Morse…..2). Coverdale is better than Evans…..3). MK2 is better than anything else……blah blah blah…

You see my point? It makes no difference what the Blog Subject is, you always turn it into that. I happen to enjoy pointing it out. Not as much as actually discussing the particular subject, but you give one no choice after a while and I believe if you revisit the various Blogs, you will find that you can probably just cut and paste your “Comparing Fetish” in the future and never type again.

See, I saved you some work now. You senior citizens need all the breaks you can get…..he he he.

Yes we do seem to have a go at each other…..and just for grins, I’m even older than you (I must be ancient), but it’s all in fun thus far. So either keep giving me the same old ammo or not. Either way, it’s another PURPLE Day for me.

“Cheers”, “SKÅL”, ‘KIPPIS’, and ‘HÖLKYN KÖLKYN’!!!!

  14. 14
    purplepriest1965 says:

Like most people you show the tendency in selective reading.

I write about many more than you state.

Maybe it’s time for an other kinda medication, shrink or glasses?

  15. 15
    Tracy Heyder says:

You see? Talk about selective reading…..

Re-read what I wrote. I gave you credit for your witt and informative entries. I’ll even repeat it here. You are great in that respect and we all (well maybe not all) admire your delivery in most cases. BUT……the point made was that in the end, you usually wind up with what I described above in my previous entry. That is what I’ve been stating all along and it has become “Who You Are” so to speak. I’m just pointing it out……over and over again because you do it over and over again. That’s all. Surely you get my drift. I truly enjoy your imput on the Purple issues as do most others, but the constant Morse Bashing and Blackmore Worshiping just becomes a little monotonous…….

Now, maybe…just maybe you don’t do it on purpose. At your age, Alzheimer’s could play a part. Maybe you don’t know that you have aready stated what you did about Blackmore and Morse “500” times. Maybe it’s like the first time each time for you. Maybe you just don’t remember…….hmmmmmmm?

Now, let’s talk about the medication you are recommending…….If you are on it, it ain’t workin’ for ya. So I’ll pass!

    Cheers

That’s the most easy way to get out Priest!
with Priest around,I’m afraid we will need this elexir too, Tracy!

    SEVEN-47 says:

I am very curious, reading everybody’s entries makes me wonder something. I’m guessing Tracy Heyder is probably close to my age, (I’m 48), how old is purplepriest1965? I just wanted a point of reference when I read their comments.

  20. 20
    Annemie says:

    SEVEN-47,
What a surprising Sherlock Holmes you are!
You and Tracy are the seniors, and our ‘Old Faithfull 1965’is the Benjamin… To me the latter seems 100 and you both just 21!But PP is 5 years younger and I believe TH is 3 years older then you!
What?…My age…I feel like you and Tracy!!!

I hope you are not planning a punitive expedition, we are not guilty on tarring or crusifying!(yet);)

  21. 21
    SEVEN-47 says:

Very interesting, thank-you. I always attempt to get a mental image of those I am communicating with.

  22. 22
    Annemie says:

    Hi SEVEN-47
Please then, don’t forget to add a lot of kidding on that image. I just noticed humor can be very different ment for each of us.I believe the intention on this site is always the love for our music and eachother!

  23. 23
    SEVEN-47 says:

    I agree totally!

  24. 24
    George Kikonishvili says:

    Where’s Child In Time??

Gillan sang this song in 2002, and Hughes can’t sing it?

  25. 25
    purplepriest1965 says:

    Hughes can sing anything.

The question remains if he should.

  26. 26
    Tracy Heyder says:

Hughes without a doubt could do a magnificent job with “Child in Time”. Why shouldn’t he. He sings other Purple Classics all the time. Many from MK2. I’d love to hear his version of that one. Hell, I’d like to hear Tom Jones sing it….he he he.

    Cheers

    Sir Laz Space Burns says:

The true fate of Rod Evans!
    Let the world be informed!!!!!

Good’ol pop vocalsit of the Mark 1 era has lived a longlife in seclusion since’80 and a U.F.O. shortly after his final courtdate kidnapped him and christened him THE CAPTAIN BEYOND and they traveled the Universe on the raging river of fear as they danced madly backwards and talked in a hush tone.
When Rod encountered Joe Cocker he said Hey Joe! While in space inside his old floating pickup truck Rod Evans married a woman from kentucky and then floated away into the realms of the deepest space voyages.
His demise occured when a UFO operated by ?’s(lead singer of the band that hit it big with 96 tears) hit his truck head on. He suffered from a mesmerization eclipse and expierenced a syndrome that submereges the victim’s mind into thousands of days of yesterday. Essentially he began living his life backwards until he encountered the bodie of Frank Poole in outer space and rechristened him and shortly after a prolonged battle with Hal 9000 he escaped a doomed space mission in a space pod and floated into some starglow energy and later became the STARCHILD!
You heard it all here first folks, now tell your friends of this great singer’s downfall.
