Thanks to Kevin Dixon for the info.
Sorry to hear that.
On a side note it blows my mind that the theater(ticketmaster) won’t issue a refund unless they get the tickets back for a show that isn’t going to happen.
That just sounds illegal to me.
October 12th, 2007 at 02:16keep taking the tablets Ritchie
October 12th, 2007 at 07:44Whether you agree with his musical direction these days or not ( I wholeheartedly DO!!!). The Man has NEVER seemed happier as I witnessed last Friday night in Ct. The bottom line remains, lets hope he is OK and this illness is just a transient thing. Get Well Soon, MIB. Regards,Drdp
October 12th, 2007 at 09:42Another cancelled show. Must be that gypsy curse!
October 12th, 2007 at 15:11what happened Ritchie, did you run out of crazy pills ?
October 12th, 2007 at 17:28it’s not cool to kick a man when he is ill, even if you don’t care for Ritchies’ music these days you need to grow up
October 12th, 2007 at 21:37Blackmore’s work of late is not everyone’s cup of tea…but if it is, you tend to love it. I agree with Drdp.
October 12th, 2007 at 22:25Looks like Ritchie is down with another bout of “Pre-Minstrel” syndrome…
October 13th, 2007 at 02:26I had tickets for the Muskegon show at The Frauenthal. I don’t know how well the tickets sold for the show, but it’s disappointing Blackmore’s Night was canceled. I’m not even that huge a fan of the band…a little too mellow and slow, overall, for me. But I’m sure it’s a good show in person.
October 13th, 2007 at 06:30Hope he gets better soon! As for those who just can’t stop nagging about Ritchie’s music – GET A LIFE! 14 years on, and some losers still rant about his band that they don’t like.
These days, I sure as hell prefer BN over DP. DP sounds old and tired. I love what they have done, but enough is enough.
October 13th, 2007 at 15:50I hope he will get better soon – if you like his music or not, don’t kick a person who is ill and then remember; (i’m a Purplefan my self), if it wasn’t for Ritchie and all his riffs, we wouldn’t have the boys on tour thise days, if it wasn’t for Smoke, Black Night, Lazy, Perfect Strangers ect, there would be no touring, so grow up, get a life and be happy for the music we have got and still, maybe for a short time from now, can get with DP and Blackmore.
Cheers
October 13th, 2007 at 21:37Guess its ok then to say ‘DP sounds old and tired’, just dont criticise BN.
Is Ritchie’s middle name ‘cancelled show’????
October 15th, 2007 at 12:01HEY STOFER & MR JONE
GET A SENSE OF HUMOR !!!! YOU’RE AS UPTIGHT AS RITCHIE !!
October 15th, 2007 at 17:00I saw Purple earlier this summer at Pine Knob (6th time). Like a fine wine, these rockers just sound better and better. For those who think the band should lie down, just go and see them. You’ll be on your feet the entire night and wish the show would never end, and forget that Led Zepellin ever existed (where are they these days anyway???)… As for Ritchie, get well soon and reschedule Muskegon soon. What a joy it would have been to see Purple and Blackmores Night in the same year. Long live rock! Long live the Renesaince!…
October 16th, 2007 at 00:50Hey Joe, UPTIGHT? probably yes, some days even more than others, but I have been told I have a great sense of humor apparently I just didn’t get yours..anyway to each his own, have o good one
