What a quality man. I respect Steve for what he has acomplished, in rock and his private life, and also the way he has the utmost respect for Ritchie and all people in general whether fans of music or not.
September 27th, 2007 at 22:28stoffer I agree totally with you Steve is a guitarist in his own rght there is nobody like him,his style and ability is second to none. His admiration for Ritchie is very respectful and I agree with that no sweat because both are so different in their skills as players.Ritchie is very original from start to finish in every Deep Purple track in fact from this day forword Ritchie shall be known as the RIFF KING
September 27th, 2007 at 23:18Sorry I didn’t finish my comment I accidentally pressed the enter key.I ended talking about Ritchie as being The RIFF KING well he is if you all think about it smoke was late on in deep purple as a riff, early on and throughout you had flight of the rat ,hard loving man, demons eye, strange kinda woman,King of dreams, woman fron tokyo, and in Rainbow man on the silver mountain, all night long, long live rock and roll,to name but a few,and please dont get me wrong here,my favourite player ever is and will always be is Ritchie Blackmore not just as a Deep Purple/Rainbow/Blackmores Night guitarist but as a composer and a conductor of the band. When I watch Ritchie and Steve I shiver they are both giants in there own rights

September 28th, 2007 at 02:59Hi Joe !
You are 100% right. Imagine DP without Ritchie Blackmore!? But DP would not exist without Steve Morse……..we would not be able to watch the old guys still being one of the the best live bands ever without him.
To be honest…..why bother……..like us enjoy instead of comparing.. and do what the band has been doing for the last 10 years……having a lot of fun.

October 2nd, 2007 at 20:17Dont let ‘Priest’ hear about you enjoying Morse era DP
October 3rd, 2007 at 08:54While I “almost” admire the blind loyalty of the Priest, I think he is out of touch with reality, lets all just enjoy DP (and family) from Evans to Airey!
October 7th, 2007 at 08:59Well said ‘stoffer’
